The Quality of Hollywood?

I was a little startled by his question but replied, “Yes.” He then stated, “No, this is not the quality of Hollywood—this is way above Hollywood. For a start, the wood is real.” I had to smile. Yes, the wood is real. In fact, the life-size Ark itself is built from 3.3 million board feet of timber. It is the largest freestanding timber-frame structure in the world, and inside there are three decks of 130+ superb exhibits with videos for all ages.

When people from around the world visit our attractions, they often comment on the incredible quality of the exhibits at both the Ark and Creation Museum. If we were to contract out the design and construction work for all of these exhibits, it would cost tens of millions more dollars than we pay for them. So how are we able to produce such stunning, world-class exhibits at both locations for a fraction of the normal cost for such items?

Well, the short answer: the Lord! You see, the Lord has graciously built up our design and fabrication team. The late Patrick Marsh came to us over 20 years ago when we were building the Creation Museum and asked if he could use his talents to build the exhibits and take them to a higher level of quality than even Hollywood and major themed attractions (Patrick had worked at Universal Studios and with theme parks around the world). Because of Patrick, other very talented artists wanted to join him and use their talents for the Lord. We now have an amazing team of people who produce the exhibits. This gifted team consists of sculptors, artists, graphic designers, engineers, CNC operators, architects, welders, carpenters, writers, researchers, and more.

When people ask how we were able to find all these talented individuals, my answer is that just as God brought the animals to Noah, God brought these people to us. Yes, it is miraculous. The short video clip below gives you a tiny glimpse at some of what goes on behind the scenes at our design studio.

God certainly has entrusted Answers in Genesis with this studio—it’s really a studio that people would normally think is impossible for a Christian organization to have! Usually, we think it’s only organizations like Disney or Universal that would have such a team. But no, God provided this amazing team so more people can learn the truth of God’s Word and the saving gospel.
