The Thanksgiving holiday is quickly approaching, and many families will be gathering to eat good food and thank God for all his many blessings. And for many of us, that means our houses will be filled with grandchildren (18 in our house!). Are you looking for something fun to do with the kids that will also teach them truths from God’s Word? If so, consider a fun new resource, Creation Fun with the Grandkids.
This book is written by “veteran grandmother” Ruth Carter (who has conducted many children’s workshops at the Creation Museum) and is filled with activities to inspire conversations about the Creator all year round, including specific Thanksgiving and fall-themed crafts and activities, such as this one:
With detailed instructions and lists of materials needed, it’s easy to gather everything you need for the craft. Then each craft concludes with a suggested “creation moment,” tying the craft or activity to foundational biblical truths.
You can see an example of how easy it is to incorporate just a short creation moment with your children into an activity in this video from one of our staff members, Avery Schu (Foley), and her children (you might recognize this family from the creation program Schus Off! on DVD or on Answers TV):
While Creation Fun with the Grandkids is written specifically for grandparents, it’s also a wonderful resource for moms and dads. You can find it at AnswersBookstore.com.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
