Over Halfway to Our Goal to Upgrade the Creation Museum Planetarium

In just a couple of months we trust we’ll begin our $2 million upgrade of the planetarium at the Creation Museum. Our planetarium has been a favorite since the museum opened in 2007. But what was state-of-the-art 12 years ago is now aging and needs to be replaced (we can’t even find some parts for the projector anymore!). We’re excited to upgrade the planetarium with a new laser projector, tilted dome, and even better acoustics so guests for years to come can vividly see how the heavens give glory to their Creator.

We’re excited to announce that we’re over halfway to our donation goal of $2 million because of generous supporters, just like you. Here are just a few of the recent donations:

  • At one event, we had a family give $1,000 from the sale of two puppies earlier that day.
  • We have a farmer donating a portion of the grain harvest that’s just around the corner.
  • We’ve had several families donate stock toward the planetarium.
  • One family decided to give a “heavenly” donation of $777.00.
  • Many kids have generously given as well.

Thanks to another generous supporter, gifts made through September 30, 2019, will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to half-a-million dollars!

Thanks to another generous supporter, gifts made through September 30, 2019, will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to half-a-million dollars! If we take full advantage of this matching gift opportunity, everything we need to raise will be raised by the end of the month. Now that’s exciting!

Our goal is to have all of the funds needed to upgrade the planetarium by the end of September (that’s in just a few days!), so we can have everything ordered and in place to start construction by November 1 with the goal of having the upgrade completed by March 2020, just in time for the large crowds that arrive for spring break. A brand-new show, currently being written by AiG astronomer Dr. Danny Faulkner, and a team of AiG researchers, writers, design, AV, and production staff, will take over 18 months to complete, with a premier in early 2021 planned. In March of next year, we’ll continue to use our excellent existing programs, but they’ll look better than ever.

It’s exciting to see what’s happening and to know that God’s people from around the world have been part of this big project that will help millions of guests experience the wonder of what God has made in the heavens.

Please consider making a gift of any amount today—a gift that will have double the impact through September 30—at AnswersinGenesis.org/donate.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
