Baseball, the Ark, and the Creation Museum

Are you a baseball fan? After living in America for almost 30 years, I have grown to appreciate baseball (though I still prefer cricket!). In fact, I attend at least one Cincinnati Reds game a year.

Here are a few baseball-related dates to keep in mind when planning your visit to the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area this summer to see the Ark Encounter (opening July 7) and Creation Museum.

  • Sunday, July 24—The Cincinnati Reds will be hosting the well-known Christian band MercyMe for the annual Post-Game Faith Concert. The lead singer for MercyMe, Bart Millard, brought his family to the museum a year and a half ago after singing at the Reds ballpark.
  • Sunday, August 14—If you enjoy minor league/independent league baseball, the Florence Freedom team (located halfway between the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter) will be hosting Hawk Nelson for a night of worship after the game.

Also, if you’re coming to our area through Louisville (less than 90 minutes from the Ark), you can visit the famous Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory, where the famous baseball bats are made.

Of course, there are many attractions and things to do in our region, such as the Newport Aquarium, National Museum of the Air Force in Dayton, Kentucky Horse Park, Kings Island, and Kentucky Kingdom to name a few—and the new Ark and the Creation Museum most of all! It will make for a great family vacation. See our website for other area attractions.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
