The Seven C's in Joy to the World

A friend of mine recently shared this with me, and he gave me permission to share it with you on my blog.

Did you know the Seven C’s of History are hidden in the Christmas carol “Joy to the World”? Although they are not in chronological order, they are there nonetheless. Now, when I sing this carol, it has more meaning!

Joy to the World, the Lord is come! (Christ)
Let earth receive her king;
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And Heaven and nature sing, (Creation),
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven, and Heaven, and nature sing.

Joy to the World, the Savior reigns! (Cross)
Let men their songs employ;
While fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains (Catastrophe)
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat, repeat, the sounding joy.

No more let sins and sorrows grow, (Consummation)
Nor thorns infest the ground;
He comes to make His blessings flow
Far as the curse is found, (Corruption)
Far as the curse is found,
Far as, far as, the curse is found.

He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove (Confusion)
The glories of His righteousness,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders, wonders, of His love.

I'm praying that you and your family have a very Merry Christmas and joyous New Year.
