This is Ken Ham, encouraging churches to start their thinking with the truth of God’s Word.
Radiometric dating is built on layers of assumptions and can’t be trusted to give accurate dates for the age of the earth.
One assumption is that there hasn’t been any contamination. But groundwater and other processes can add or remove both the parent and daughter atoms from the rocks used for dating.
And it’s been shown that rocks can be contaminated. Fifty-year-old lava flows in New Zealand gave radiometric ages of one-hundred-thirty-three million years to three point nine billion years! Now, clearly something was quite off!
The assumptions in radiometric dating aren’t provable. In fact, they’ve been proved to be wrong!
Actually, the earth is young -- as the Bible teaches!
