In the book of Job, God describes an amazing creature. It has a massive belly, bones of bronze, and limbs of iron. It eats grass and moves its tail like a cedar. What is this animal?
Well, first we know it’s a real creature. God is demonstrating his incredible power to Job by pointing to things he’s made that Job’s familiar with. Some Bible footnotes say behemoth is an elephant or hippo. Now, they’re large and strong, but they certainly don’t move their tails like cedars! They have unimpressive little tails.
The only creature that really matches God’s description is a sauropod dinosaur. Behemoth was probably a dinosaur!
