Even though the cougar is found in few places in North America, it plays an important role in its habitat by keeping other animals in check. This carnivorous behavior was not part of its original created kind but came after the Fall. The cougar will sometimes hide its large prey and return to eat it later. This allows it to thrive even when the food supply is low.
