Author: Paul
Date Written: AD 52
Chapters: 3
Key People: Paul, Timothy, Church at Thessalonica
Summary: This second letter to the church at Thessalonica was written during a time of great persecution. In the midst of their suffering, these early Christians were convinced that the Day of the Lord and the return of Christ were at hand. They were discouraged, afraid, confused, and had stopped working to support themselves. Paul wrote this letter to encourage the church to stand firm in their beliefs, to reassure those who were afraid, to clarify the truth about Christ’s return, and to rebuke them for their idleness and disobedience to God.
About Jesus: Jesus Christ will one day return as the victorious King. We don’t know when that will be. But Christians should continue to live their lives for His glory and not grow weary in doing good.
