As part of our “Meet the ABC team,” we’re excited to introduce Evonne, a children’s curriculum writer and editor with ABC. Evonne’s roots are in British Columbia, Canada, but she is a dual citizen now living and working here in the US. But she still retains her Canadian love to watch and play hockey.
Here’s a bit more about Evonne:
How long have you worked on ABC? 3.5 years.
What is your role with ABC? I’m a children’s curriculum writer and editor. My main responsibility is writing the Grade 4–5 curriculum.
What is the favorite part of your job? I love learning more about the Bible as I study and write the lessons. God is always showing me new things in his Word!
What is your favorite part of the curriculum? I like the skits that make the Bible come to life and the selection of game options. The memory verse music by Seeds Family Worship is also a fun and easy way to learn Scripture.
What is your favorite book of the Bible? That’s hard to choose, but I’d say Job and Psalms. The psalms are great for prayer, praise, and comfort, and Job is one of my favorite Bible heroes.
What is your afternoon pick-me-up to keep on working? Taking a walk, eating a snack, or pestering my coworkers!
Do you have a childhood memory about Sunday school? I was blessed with many great Sunday school teachers who invested in me. From my preschool days, I remember loving the flannelgraph Bible accounts and songs with motions.
Thank you, Evonne, for your hard work and dedication to making ABC amazing!
