Even in a world full of evil and death, God’s love shines through!
When some creatures face difficult weather, they use their God-given ability to put life on hold until things get better.
But these animals can escape death for only a short while. Even with their built-in “life preservers,” they’ll eventually die. Because of Adam’s sin in the Garden of Eden, nothing on earth lives forever. That includes humans.
Thankfully, God provided a “life preserver” for us. But this life preserver isn’t a way to sleep away the difficult times, or some clever design to delay getting old.
You see, God had a plan to save us. His plan stretches all the way back before He ever made the earth. He knew we’d need to be rescued from death and hell. So He sent His Son Jesus to rescue us by dying on the Cross in our place. (John 3:16)
If we believe that Jesus died and came back to life for us and if we place our faith in Him, then we will get to be with Him forever. In fact, He’s planned something that’s way better than any form of hibernation that animals can do.
For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven . . . And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. (I Thessalonians 4:16-17)
Now, that’s true lifesaving!
