Paul’s letter was meant to encourage Timothy to boldly preach the Word and to be diligent to reprove, rebuke, and exhort others in the truth. His advice to Timothy in this last letter includes adhering to sound doctrine, showing steadfast faithfulness to Jesus Christ, and finishing the race set before him by keeping the faith.
