There are over 60 different species of eagles, including the North American bald eagle, the African crowned eagle, and others.
All belong to the hawk kind that God created on day five of creation week. Original members of the hawk kind ate only plants, but as a result of the fall, they now eat animals. God gave eagles amazing eyesight, which they use in a fallen world to hunt prey.
Eagles can spot a rabbit from a mile away and locate fish underwater from hundreds of feet in the air. An object that looks clear to you from 5 feet away looks that sharp to an eagle from 20 feet away. Eagle eyes are about the same size as human eyes, but eagles can see at least four times better than people. In fact, if your vision was as good as an eagle’s, you could read a newspaper from across a whole football field!
