Teaching Tie-In

Hold up the sample craft and say:

Have you ever had the opportunity to feel a soft ocean breeze? Pause for responses. It's so nice! It's a good gift from a good heavenly Father. In fact, every good thing you have ever experienced is from God. James 1:17 tells us that every good and perfect gift comes down from God. So the next time you eat a mouthful of ice cream, or enjoy a laugh with someone, or hear a wind chime, let it be a reminder of God, the giver of every single good thing you have ever had.

Class Time Directions

  1. Tie a bell onto one end of each piece of cord.
  2. Thread 15 (or more) beads onto each piece of cord.
  3. Tie one of the beaded cords to the middle of the twig.
  4. Tie the other two beaded cords to the twig—one on each side of the middle cord.
  5. Make a hanger for your wind chime by wrapping each end of the wire near the ends of the twig.

Tip Corner

  • For variety, the beaded cords can be different lengths.
  • To save class time, tie the bells to the cords in Pre-prep.
  • For the younger children, you may want to substitute chenille stems for cording and wire.
