paint.

warm water.
Class Time Directions
To make your container look like a treasure chest,
apply 2 strips of gold glitter tape across the lid, front
to back, to simulate straps.
Decorate the strips of tape with colored sequins or
gems.
For your treasure map, take a sheet of white card
stock and gently tear away the straight edges from
all 4 sides.
Now crumple it up and smooth it out 2 or 3 times,
being careful not to rip it.
Take a wet tea bag and “paint” the paper, edge to
edge, and everywhere in between. Then, flip it over
and do the other side.
Gently fold the wet paper and place it in a zippered
baggie to take home. Wipe fingers and any excess
tea or spills with paper towels.
When you get home, lay the wet paper out to dry.
Then, use crayons or markers to make a treasure
map with landmarks (house, trees, mailbox, light
post, picnic table, swing set, etc.) and dashed lines
that lead to a large “X.”
Tip Corner
You may want to cover your tables with plastic for
this craft.
Baby wipes (cut in half) can be used to wipe tea
from fingers.
