Print one gift certificate for each student and have them fill in the blanks with their own ideas of something they can do for someone in their family. For example, they could bake cookies for Dad, clean up the dishes for Mom, help a brother clean his room, read a story to a younger sibling, etc.
Have students color and decorate their certificates. If using glue, allow to dry before rolling the certificate and tying with ribbon.
Today we talked about the greatest gift ever given. God gave his Son to be our Savior. Who was that? Jesus.
God promised to send his only Son, Jesus, as our Savior, and he kept that promise, didn’t he? I hope each of you will do your best to give the gift you wrote down on your certificates. And remember to tell your family about who Jesus is, the eternal Creator, the angel of the Lord, and our Savior.
The Old Testament points to the coming of Jesus. The beginning of the New Testament records that he came. And the rest of the New Testament points to his coming again.
