Tom Vail, author of Grand Canyon: A Different View, which made worldwide headlines when the National Park Service considered banning it from park bookstores, has over 25 years experience guiding tours through Grand Canyon (over 150 trips in all). For the last several years, AiG has partnered with Tom’s ministry Canyon Ministries to provide biblically based trips through the Grand Canyon.

In-depth Geology

This trip travels the 190 miles of the Grand Canyon, beginning and ending in Marble Canyon. An excellent way to see the Canyon, this 9-day trip gives time for 2 days of additional hiking not given on the 7-day trips.

This trip may include an optional flight from Las Vegas to Marble Canyon at the beginning of the trip (additional $240 fee). On the last morning of the trip, you will be helicoptered out of the Canyon and transferred to a flight back to your point of origin.

Throughout the trip, Dr. Snelling will be teaching in-depth geology. Also, Dr. Snelling and Dr. Mitchell will be leading the devotionals throughout the trip.

About Dr. Andrew Snelling
Dr. Andrew Snelling is a geologist, research scientist, and technical editor. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Geology from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, where he graduated with First Class Honors in 1975 and a Ph.D. in geology from the University of Sydney. In June 2007, Dr. Snelling’s employment began with Answers in Genesis as their Director of Research and editor of the free online journal Answers Research Journal. He continues, though, to reside in Brisbane, Australia, and commute regularly as necessary to the USA. His talents have enabled him to be involved in extensive creationist research in Australia, the USA, Britain, New Zealand, and elsewhere, majoring on the radioactive methods for dating rocks and evidence for the Flood.

About Dr. Tommy Mitchell
Dr. Tommy Mitchell is the latest dynamic lecturer to be added to AiG-USA’s growing speaking staff. Tommy, an adjunct speaker with Answers in Genesis since mid-2005, has spoken to thousands of adults, youth, and children in a variety of settings, clearly communicating reasons to trust the Bible and the Creator Christ who wrote it. As a scientist, physician, and father, Dr. Mitchell has a burden to provide solid answers from the Bible to equip people to stand in the face of personal tragedy and popular evolutionary misinformation.

Geology by Day, Astronomy by Night

As you travel 190 river miles through the heart of the Grand Canyon on this adventure, you will encounter all the major rapids and points of interest along the river corridor.

In the evenings Dr. DeYoung will be teaching on astronomy. And, weather permitting, a telescope will allow you to see the details of the created heavens.

About Carl Kerby
Carl Kerby, one of AiG’s most dynamic lecturers on the book of Genesis, is a founding board member of AiG. He is also considered the “father” of AiG’s highly popular website (with up to 50,000 daily visits). In addition to being AiG’s vice president for Ministry Relations, Carl manages to conduct several faith-building AiG meetings each year. His passion is to proclaim the authority and accuracy of the Bible, and Carl does so in a highly effective way for all audiences. He is much in demand as a speaker to both young people and adults. A former air traffic controller at Chicago’s busy O’Hare International Airport, Carl’s thrilling testimony has been shared in churches throughout America.

About Dr. Don DeYoung
Dr. Don DeYoung is Chairman of the Department of Physical Science at Grace College, Winona Lake, Indiana. He has taught at Grace since 1972, with sabbatical leaves spent in San Diego and the South Pacific. Dr. DeYoung is also on the faculty of the Institute for Creation Research, Dallas. Courses taught include physics, astronomy, and mathematics. He speaks on creation topics and believes that the details of nature are a powerful testimony to the Creator’s care for mankind.

Dr. Marcus Ross
Marcus Ross has loved paleontology (especially dinosaurs) since he was a kid growing up in Rhode Island. He has continued pursuing this passion, currently researching about a group of extinct marine reptiles called mosasaurs. He is greatly interested in issues surrounding the creation-evolution controversy and the intersection of geology with the biblical events of creation and Noah’s Flood.
