Ten years ago, we launched Día Latino, an outreach to Spanish speakers here in America as well as in Latin America. This event began at the Creation Museum with Spanish signage, and the number of translators has grown considerably over the years to include a Día Latino day at the Ark Encounter as well as special speakers and live music. It’s an exciting event—and the ten-year anniversary of Día Latino is taking place next weekend, October 15 at the Ark Encounter and October 16 at the Creation Museum in Northern Kentucky.
And this year’s event will be bigger and better than ever, with a special preconference at the Creation Museum the Friday evening before the event (October 14 from 6–8 p.m.). The theme is “Santidad de la Vida” (Sanctity of Life)—a very powerful and timely theme as abortion is an issue sweeping through both the USA and Latin America right now. The entire preconference will be presented in Spanish by AiG Latin America manager Joe Owen and Pastor Otto Sanchez (they will also be speaking during Día Latino, as will I—translated from Australian into Spanish of course!). This 6 p.m. preconference is free and open to everyone. Don’t miss it!
To add to the theme of the Sanctity of Life, attendees at Día Latino will also be among the first to see the greatly expanded “Fearfully and Wonderfully Made” exhibit which opens to the public Sunday, October 9, 2022, at the Creation Museum. This is our most technologically advanced exhibit (which is saying something, since all of our exhibits are world-class) with a special lighting effect called “Pepper’s ghost” overlaying the twelve lifelike baby models—it looks spectacular, and we can’t wait for guests to experience it along with all of our other incredible exhibits. It’s the most powerful pro-life exhibit in the world.
If you speak Spanish or know others who do, you’ll definitely want to make plans to attend this year’s Día Latino and enjoy the speakers, Spanish worship service, music performances, and the world’s two leading Christian themed attractions with Spanish signage and captions. Bring the whole family (children 10 and under receive free admission this year).
