As we eagerly await the reopening of our attractions on June 8, 2020, I’ve been introducing you to some of the teams and individuals who have been working hard behind the scenes to keep the AiG ministry operational. Many have been working as well on plans so we would be ready as soon as possible for reopening here in N. Kentucky. Today I want to introduce you to two more of those teams: the department of public safety (DPS) and our safety department.
DPS has been keeping our facilities secure and has served as part of our COVID-19 team (along with our safety department), keeping up with the ever-changing rules, regulations, and updates for three different states (Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana). While the Ark and museum are both in Kentucky, we have staff who come from the tri-state area (which includes Ohio and Indiana) and are therefore under three different governors all with different regulations in dealing with COVID-19. You can meet Suza, a very special member of our DPS team, in this fun video I recently recorded down at the Ark Encounter:
Without their diligence, we wouldn’t have been ready to open as soon as the governor of Kentucky gave us the green light.
Our safety department has worked hard to help craft a plan for our reopening so we can have the cleanest, safest, most family-friendly facilities possible. They’ve communicated and trained staff on all the new requirements, such as wearing masks and having daily temperature checks and health screens. Without their diligence, we wouldn’t have been ready to open as soon as the governor of Kentucky gave us the green light.
I am very thankful for all of our staff who have worked so hard, and continue to work so hard, to ensure AiG remains operational during this time of shutdown and to get the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter ready to safely reopen.
And thank you for your prayers and giving that have enabled the ministry to make it through this very difficult time of dramatically reduced revenue. If you’d like to support us by giving towards our reopening costs, please visit AnswersinGenesis.org/donate. We are already nearly halfway towards our goal of $1 million to enable us to reopen June 8. We so appreciate your support and, above all, your prayers.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
