Meet the AiG Staff: Facilities Maintenance and Housekeeping

During this time that the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum attractions are closed, we’re working with a skeleton crew after being forced to temporarily lay off 80% of our staff during the Coronavirus situation. (I can’t wait—and neither can they—until we’re able to recall laid off employees!) Those who remain have been working extra hours and wearing many extra hats, some at a reduced salary. I thought you’d like to meet some of these incredible people who are keeping the ministry going.

Over the next few weeks, you’ll be meeting some of our employees and departments.

So, over the next few weeks, you’ll be meeting some of our employees and departments. And even though our state government doesn’t consider the spiritual health of people to be “essential,” we at Answers in Genesis certainly do—which is why we haven’t stopped reaching people in many ways with the truth of God’s Word.

Today, meet facilities maintenance and housekeeping.

The facilities maintenance team keeps everything working and running smoothly at both of our attractions. Without them, things would deteriorate, and costly repairs might need to be made when we go to reopen. They are part of our efforts to be good stewards of what God has given us. So, in this video, meet some of our facilities maintenance team:

Another group is our housekeeping team. These staff are working hard to keep the facilities clean and sanitary for the staff who must still work in the office. They’re faithfully sanitizing high-traffic areas, so no one gets sick—they are truly fulfilling the Lord’s command to “love your neighbor as yourself” (Mark 10:31).

We appreciate their efforts to keep us all in good health and make sure the attractions are ready for our guests as soon as we’re permitted to reopen. And when we do reopen, you can be assured the Ark and museum will be safe places to visit—our housekeeping teams are amazing and guest surveys nearly always give us an “excellent” in the cleanliness category.

I recently featured a video about our dedicated zookeepers and about what their day looks like. If you missed that, you can find it here.

A big “thank you” to our facilities maintenance and housekeeping teams—we appreciate their dedication and hard work in service to this ministry and, ultimately, to the Lord.

And thank you for your continued support of this ministry—we couldn't do it without you. If you would like to donate to help sustain us during this time, please visit AnswersinGenesis.org/donate.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
