Twenty-five years ago this month, I started a radio program called Answers with Ken Ham. This program, which was originally ninety seconds, was designed to give short answers to the tough questions of our day and emphasize biblical authority and the gospel, challenging people to build a more biblical worldview. And it’s still doing that, by God’s grace, a quarter of a century (and over 6,500 programs!) later.
The reach continues to expand, lives continue to be touched, and people continue to be encouraged with the truth of God’s Word.
Many years ago, I was told that radio wasn’t worth the investment and we should stop doing the programs and focus elsewhere. But I didn’t feel that was the direction we should go. From anecdotal evidence, I knew the radio programs were reaching people. I’m thankful we continued doing them because I still hear from many individuals, including some who are now on staff with us, that they were first exposed to the AiG ministry through those daily spots, which are now sixty seconds in length. (Shortening the program allowed us to get on hundreds of new stations that were looking for sixty-second features as opposed to ninety.)
Answers with Ken Ham is now heard on over 1,000 radio stations, and it is translated into Spanish as Respuestas Hoy, heard throughout Latin America. The reach continues to expand, lives continue to be touched, and people continue to be encouraged with the truth of God’s Word.
I’m thankful for what God has done through this small part of the Answers in Genesis ministry. You can listen to these programs and share them with others at AnswersRadio.com.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
