An Evening to Remember

by Ken Ham

Get ready to eat a delicious meal and watch a wonderful live drama at the Creation Museum next month. Every year we host this special event called An Evening to Remember. This dinner program (February 13 this year) is very popular and usually sells out. If you haven’t registered already, you will want to do so right away to secure your spot before they are all gone—you certainly won’t want to miss this enjoyable and relaxing evening of food and Christ-centered entertainment.

This special evening features a delicious buffet-style dinner of chicken piccatta, roast beef in gravy, real mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli, special salad, rolls, assorted cakes, pies, and beverages. This evening will also include an unforgettable live drama. Back by popular demand, Geri Campbell will be performing The Story of Gomer. This love story, drawn from the pages of the Old Testament book of Hosea, highlights God’s redeeming love for His people. I believe you will be encouraged and refreshed by Geri’s engaging drama of the love story that parallels the greatest love story ever told—the love of Jesus Christ for broken, sinful people who have gone astray from Him (Isaiah 53:6). Perhaps consider bringing friends and family members with you who do not know Christ so that they can see a dramatic presentation of the gospel message.

In keeping with the theme of the dramatic presentation, guests will have the opportunity to support the healing and restoration of the modern-day Gomers who are in bondage to human sex trafficking around the world. It is estimated that there are 30 million slaves (majority of them young girls) around the world who need to be rescued and restored.

Destiny Rescue, a ministry which helps rescue and restore girls, uses jewelry as a means of providing income for these girls. The jewelry is hand-designed by the rescued girls and will be made available for purchase during the evening. Proceeds from sales will go to Destiny Rescue as they continue their work in rescuing women and children around the world. Please bring cash or a check only for purchases.

The Story of Gomer was the first ever theater event to be held at the Creation Museum (in 2008), and has been brought back several times due to popular demand. Several years ago, a follower of Answers in Genesis in Taiwan saw the advertisement for “An Evening to Remember featuring” The Story of Gomer and remembered the moving story line of God's redeeming love. Three years later, he contacted Geri, the actress and author of The Story of Gomer, and requested permission to translate the script into Mandarin Chinese and perform the play in “black box” theater style. The Story of Gomer played for eight sold out performances in Taiwan this past October, and many people heard the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ in a pagan culture.

It is amazing to see the connection Answers in Genesis and the Creation Museum have to believers all over the world.

For those who have seen the show, Geri has announced that she will present a brand-new ending to The Story of Gomer at our “Evening to Remember” event.

I encourage you to reserve your spot to join us for this unforgettable event on February 13, starting at 6 p.m. You can order your tickets here.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
