Deadly Disclosures

by Ken Ham

I’m not one for reading fiction books—and they would have to be extremely exciting to keep me interested. When special Australian friends, Terry and Julie Cave, sent me a copy of the manuscript of Julie’s first book—a mystery novel—I thought I would try to read it and see what I thought. As I started to read, it immediately captivated me and I couldn’t put it down. What made it even more thrilling was that it was centered around a mystery at the Smithsonian in Washington DC; so even though it is a fiction book, the creation/evolution issue is discussed clearly and the gospel is presented powerfully. What a unique book! When Tim Dudley, President of Master Books, started reading it (and like me, it has to be a super-good fiction book to keep one interested), he couldn’t put it down! He made the decision he had to publish this.

Deadly Disclosures

Deadly Disclosures has now been published. I really can’t recommend it highly enough. You will be on the edge of your seat. It is also a great witnessing book that deals clearly with the authority of Scripture and the creation/evolution issue—but it is all interspersed throughout this captivating murder mystery at the Smithsonian centered around intolerance/bias against the biblical creation position (just as we saw documented in the Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed documentary a couple of year ago).

Here is what we say about it at our online bookstore:

Thomas Whitfield, proud Secretary of the Smithsonian and gatekeeper for its extensive scientific influence, has disappeared and foul play is suspected. Dinah Harris, an FBI agent struggling with alcohol and depression, is seeking answers amidst the fallout of her own personal crisis. Whitfield is eventually found dead, and other people connected to him begin dying as well, ultimately exposing a broad conspiracy linked to Whitfield’s recent conversion to Christ. His promotion of a biblical worldview is diametrically opposed to the hostile academic environment of government-funded grants and philosophies. Will Dinah recognize her need of the redemptive power of Christ before it’s too late? Or will the ominous danger stalking her investigation claim another victim? Includes an ongoing “debate” about creation that informs as it entertains. This is the first book in an exciting new fiction trilogy inspired by the exposure of academic bias against ID/creation in Ben Stein’s riveting documentary, Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed!

While I was in Australia visiting family recently, I had my photograph taken with Terry and Julie and their daughter Jasmine. Julie and I are holding the Deadly Disclosures book, and Terry is holding AiG’s new Answers Book 3. I have also included a photograph of Terry, Julie, and Jasmine taken at one of our favorite Australian restaurants.

You can order “Deadly Disclosures” from the AiG online bookstore.

I thought I should also include a photograph of me and my mother (who turned 82 recently) taken while I was in Australia.

Grand Canyon Raft Trips—Strategic Ministry!

In a previous blog, I mentioned our strategic Grand Canyon outreach to seminary and Christian college professors (and other key Christian leaders). AiG is co-sponsoring this special outreach with Canyon Ministries and The Master’s Seminary of California. As AiG’s Dr. Terry Mortenson (who helps Canyon Ministries to organize the trip) told me, this is a wonderful opportunity to “influence the influencers” by giving these Christian leaders a raft trip (for several days) down the Colorado River and through the Canyon, as they carefully consider both the biblical and scientific evidence for a literal Genesis—including the global Flood at the time of Noah. Plus they enjoy the scenery of this amazing canyon and they fellowship with other Christian leaders.

Terry reminded me that this is the third such trip we have done, and all the past Christian leaders found it to be a profound experience. For some it was truly life-changing. We have gotten many reports of how this trip has affected their teaching ministries. We are praying for the same for the men on this 2010 trip.

We would ask you to continue to pray for this outreach in two areas, especially as this trip is underwritten by our supporters so that the leaders do not have to pay for the raft trip (they only pay for their transportation to get to Arizona). Terry gave me these two prayer points:

  1. We still need about $24,000 to cover the cost of providing significant scholarships for each of the participants, who otherwise would not be able to afford to do the trip. One raft seat just became open recently that needs to be filled.
  2. For a later raft trip, which is open to anyone, Canyon Ministries still needs to fill 4 seats on one of their regular 7-day Grand Canyon river trips (starting June 21). They need to fill this raft trip to ensure that they will continue to be able to offer future Grand Canyon trips for Christian leaders and others.

Please consider helping fund the scholarships for trip #1 above; please go here: Christian Leaders’ Trip. To contact Canyon Ministries about joining their June 21st trip (for kids and adults), see Trip information & schedule.

I have taken one of Canyon Ministries’ raft trips through the Grand Canyon, and I highly recommend it. Tom Vail leads a professional crew, the food they prepare is excellent, and the Bible teaching is wonderful—and it all happens right at one of the natural wonders of the world.

Devotion

Kneeled down upon his knees before all

(2 Chronicles 6:13) For Solomon had made a brasen scaffold, of five cubits long, and five cubits broad, and three cubits high, and had set it in the midst of the court: and upon it he stood, and kneeled down upon his knees before all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven

If the King of Israel could kneel down on his knees and reach to Heaven so should we; it is good when others see us humble ourselves & kneel before God.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,

Ken
