As we have noted in our lead article today, this Wednesday marks the last day you can take advantage of an “early-bird” discount for our “Defending the Faith” family conference near the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee. Right now is the time to make your summer vacation plans and have your family join us in beautiful northern Tennessee in July—and save money on your registration.
I am personally looking forward to speaking at this family conference, July 19-22. I also get to hear and learn from some excellent Bible teachers like Dr Herbert Samworth, Dr. Voddie Baucham, speakers from the Associates for Biblical Research, Bill Jack, and AiG staff—and also to hear from one of my favorite musicians: pianist and singer John Elliott. His worshipful music will be a blessing to you. And Buddy Davis, our own on-staff musician, sculptor, and workshop leader, will provide some “down-home” music.
I wanted to point out to you that we have made sure to keep two afternoons open for you to explore this very popular area near the Great Smoky Mountains. I’ve already toured some of attractions in the area, including in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, and I think families will absolutely love the location we have chosen—plus be blessed by the content of the conference.
We are also holding special sessions for women, teens, and children—we expect that some of the workshops will be fully booked in the next few weeks, so don’t delay registering. And the registration discount ends Wednesday.
Registration also includes free admission to our Creation Museum, about 4 1/2 hours away from the conference. We are hearing of people who will visit the museum before or after the conference.
I’ve been told that over 1,700 people have already booked in, and that some nearby hotels might become fully booked over the next few weeks because of the interest in Defending the Faith.
AiG’s Defending the Faith family conference is unique in many ways:
Can you think of four better-spent days for your family this summer? Check out www.DefendingTheFaith2010.org and register on-line by Wednesday.
An encouraging email received recently:
I would like to give you some encouragement and let you know that what you are doing and saying is being taken to heart and changing the way our church is conducting Sunday School Classes.
Ken Ham once said that we send our children to public schools where they learn about science (evolution) and history (revisionist) and so forth, and then they go to Sunday school and are taught "Bible Stories." They are taught "fact" from the public school and "myth" from church. And we wonder why we are losing our children. We should be teaching history and science and government from our Sunday school classes.
Our church has decided to completely change the way we do Sunday school. This last 11 weeks . . . we taught a "creation/evolution" class. Someone else taught a "Basic Worldview" class, and there was another class on "The Life of Jesus." In the future our Pastor wants to do a class on our government and the constitution and another class on American history. Thank you for your wisdom, and your unwavering pursuit of the truth.
Looked down…to hear…to loose…to declare
(Psalm 102:19-21) For he has looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth; To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death; To declare the name of the LORD in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem
The Lord Jesus Christ hears the groan of the sincere sinner who calls on His name and he looses him from the chains of his condemnation saving his soul.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
