I have been in California most of this week, and while there had the wonderful opportunity to go into a radio studio with well-known pastor Chuck Smith—known as the founder of the Calvary Chapel church movement worldwide (over 1000 churches)—for a radio program called "Pastor's Perspective." Listen to the podcast of the interview.
I thank God for the many pastors who are using their pulpits and radio ministries to proclaim the authority of the Bible from the very first verse.
AiG supporters will have the opportunity to accompany me, Dr. David Crandall, and Dr. Terry Mortenson to Thailand early next year.
AiG is currently planning an “All Asian Creation Conference (AACC)” January 19-21, 2011 in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
The conference is sponsored by Answers In Genesis (USA) and a group called Sister Asian Creation Ministries. The Director and Coordinator of the conference is Dr. David R. Crandall, International Director of Answers Worldwide.
I will be a keynote speaker at this conference, which will also Include Asian speakers and Dr. Terry Mortenson and Steve Ham from Answers in Genesis. All the details will be released next month.
Mission Trip Option (with Elephant Safari)
Dr. Crandall is currently working with travel agents to develop a missions trip for North Americans to accompany us for this Asian trip that would greatly encourage our Asian creationist friends—and a vacation element will be added for 4 days after the conference (January 19-25) and will include an Elephant Safari. Details will be released in April. (Note: this is a first report on this tremendous international outreach/mission trip … details may vary as the plans are developed.)
Creation Museum receives Star of Tourism Award:
Northern Kentucky Convention and Visitors Bureau honors local attraction
PETERSBURG, Ky., Mar. 17, 2010 – The Northern Kentucky Convention and Visitors Bureau last night awarded the Creation Museum the “Star of Tourism” award, its top annual honor, recognizing the museum’s contribution in attracting visitors to the region.
Museum co-founder and CCO Mark Looy was on hand at the Bureau’s 2009 Annual Meeting to accept the award on behalf of the museum. “We are honored to be recognized with this award, and are grateful for the opportunity to have such a positive impact in our community,” Looy said.
Tom Caradonio, president and CEO of the Northern Kentucky Convention and Visitors Bureau (NKYCVB), paid tribute to the museum’s unique achievement in increasing local tourism. “The Bureau’s Star of Tourism Award is meant to recognize individuals and attractions who have made a significant positive impact on tourism in Northern Kentucky,” Caradonio said. “With the Creation Museum attracting almost one million visitors since opening less than three years ago – including more than half of those visitors coming from over 250 miles away – it certainly meets the criteria we established for the award.”
The NKYCVB functions to positively impact the Northern Kentucky economy through conventions, meetings and visitor expenditures; it represents Boone, Campbell and Kenton counties. An outside consultant estimates that $60 million has been added to the regional economy by museum visitors in its first two years of operation.
The Creation Museum was founded by Answers in Genesis, a biblical apologetics ministry which conducts more than 250 teaching meetings each year, hosts an award-winning Web site, and produces the “Answers” radio program heard on more than 800 stations throughout the United States. The high-tech Creation Museum opened to international acclaim on Memorial Day, 2007, and has attracted 960,000 visitors since then. For more information, see our newsroom.
This comes a few months after one of our museum advertising campaigns received the top award (out of more than 200 entries) from the state of Kentucky for advertising excellence.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken
