In a previous blog post, I wrote about (and posted some photographs of) AiG materials that had been translated into Haitian Creole—the main language in Haiti. We were concerned for the missionary who translated these materials and who lives in Haiti and what was happening concerning his ministry in the aftermath of the recent massive earthquake there. Matthew wrote and told us he is fine and also sent the following:
Thanks for lifting us up to the throne of grace in our time of need. God is faithful and has enabled us to keep going, and we trust that He will continue to do so in spite of the continued earthquakes and tremors. In answer to your question about the materials that we have translated and their availability in Haiti, we do have them available here.
Below I will list the materials that we currently have published:
- Sèt “K” Istwa yo (7 C’s of History)
- Èske Te Vrèman Genyen yon Lach e Delij Noe? (Was There Really a Noah’s Ark and Flood?)
- Kibo Kayen te jwenn madanm li? (Where Did Cain Get His Wife?)
The above three items are booklets.
We are also in the process of publishing an animal book which consists of eight of the Created Creature articles from Answers magazine. We were in contact with the publisher to get this book printed when the earthquake hit so now I am just waiting for time to get it done and also waiting to see what happens with shipping, containers, customs, etc.
Please feel free to share my email address with any of your contacts that would like to get in touch with me about materials or anything else for that matter.
If you would like to reach Matthew in Haiti, send us an email, and we will forward it to him.
We will be on ABC-TV’s Nightline news program tonight, Friday, at 11:35 p.m. Eastern time and 10:35 p.m. Central. The program was originally scheduled to air Thursday evening, but many news stories this week preempted the program’s segment that will discuss the new theatrical movie release on Charles Darwin called (curiously enough) Creation. The Nightline segment will show excerpts of an interview with me, as well as scenes of the Creation Museum.
Creation was shown in UK theaters last year during what was called “The Year of Darwin”—2009 was the 200th anniversary of Darwin’s birth. With the Creation film being released in the U.S. today, ABC News wanted to get our perspective on Darwin.
Read our review of Creation.
Dr. Jason Lisle and I will be in Southern California for two conferences beginning tomorrow (Saturday) evening. Please go to the AiG calendar for details of the two conferences—Saturday/Sunday and Sunday/Monday.
About four years ago, our web team at AiG persuaded me to commence a blog. At the time I couldn’t perceive how popular this part of our website might become, but today it is one of the most frequently visited pages on our entire site.
Daily visitors to my blog are updated regularly on the “behind the scenes” activities of our ministry—from conferences to museum additions and even to updates on new resources. Over the years, the blog has given me the opportunity to introduce many special guests and friends of the ministry to blog readers and how our message has touched the lives of people all over the world as people have come to visit us at the museum, given their testimonies, and so on. Blogging has become a wonderful way for people to get to know the dynamic nature of our ministry and the many things that happen behind the scenes.
Now in addition to this blog, all of our excellent speakers on the Answers Outreach team have their very own blogs on our new Outreach website. As you visit each of our speaker’s pages, you can now follow their ministry in local churches and in other venues as they take the message of biblical authority, the relevance of Genesis, and the gospel of Jesus Christ all across this nation—and even throughout the world.
To have a look at our speakers’ blogs, just go to our Outreach speakers page and click on their photo. The speaker blogs will be updated by each speaker on a regular basis.
(Acts 16:6, 9) Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia. . . . And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.
Preaching the gospel is not an imposition on another, but a help for a person to get to heaven; the Lord Jesus Christ shows us who is yearning for that help.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,Answers in Genesis is an apologetics ministry, dedicated to helping Christians defend their faith and proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ.
