Rejoicing in Heaven—That Is What It Is All About

by Ken Ham

In Luke 15:10 we read, “… I tell you, there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” This week, I was so blessed to hear a report that has resulted in angels rejoicing in Heaven. Praise the Lord with us as you read about an encounter I had at the Creation Museum.

First, we had a very good crowd at the Creation Museum on Monday, (as well as yesterday)—almost 2000. As I walked through the main hall about 30 minutes after we opened to survey the bustling scene, a lady, Trina, noticed me walking by and stopped me to ask: “Are you Ken Ham?” I answered yes, but I'm not sure she heard me. She asked again: “Are you really Ken Ham?”

Trina told me that she brought her unsaved husband to an Answers in Genesis seminar we held in northern Virginia (near Washington, DC) over ten years ago, and he became a Christian that evening! While we chatted, her husband, John, came up and introduced himself, along with their four children. I was told that the many questions he had about Christianity were answered that day back in the 1990s. As a software engineer, he said that the lectures showed him that the Bible was highly logical.

The family now lives in Knoxville, Tennessee, and they made the four-hour drive north to tour the museum on Monday—and they returned on Tuesday! The parents told us that our homeschooling materials have been a great blessing to them.

We hope that the many thousands of non-Christians who have been visiting the museum during our Christmas celebrations (going on right now and through January 4) will also have their questions answered about the Bible and then receive Christ as Savior. The museum is a very evangelistic center—and that is what it is all about!

Superior Hospitality!

The museum staff strive for what they call “superior hospitality” in all they do at the Creation Museum. After the icy weather last week that resulted in massive traffic problems (freeways and bridges shut down for hours), we received this email:
I just had to comment on my visit to the Creation Museum on Tuesday, December 23rd. My 8yr. old son and I were two of the many who were trapped at the museum by the horrible weather. The staff were absolutely wonderful! They made available extra planetarium shows to all, for free. The main area with the nativity became a beautiful Christmas celebration with several staff members and volunteers singing Christmas songs with visitors joining in.
And the grand finale was a free showing of "Expelled-No Intelligence Allowed" in the Special Effects Theatre. The staff continually updated all on conditions outside and the security staff were extremely helpful to my son and I personally by making a recommendation on an alternate route that was instumental in getting us home to our family in the Columbus, Ohio area. I homeschool my son and the lessons he learned not only at the museum itself but of the Christian love and care that was demonstrated by your staff will last a lifetime!!!
Thanks to all the Museum staff who went the extra mile in providing superior hospitality for the guests who were trapped by the weather problems! What a witness this was to this young man referred to in the email above.

Devotion

Combating

(1Peter 5:8-9) Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

Because our spiritual arch enemy never rests our life will always be one of combating, but we are not alone in battle & our promised rest in Heaven comes soon.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying

Ken
