I spoke to 6,400 people at Idlewild Baptist Church in Lutz (near Tampa), Florida, yesterday. All the pallets of books and DVDs (except for a handful of Spanish DVDs) were obtained by the people who heard the messages. They took it all! We could have sent a lot more—there is such a hunger for AiG resources when people really understand the importance of the messages we bring.
I am finding more and more people are waking up to the loss of biblical authority in the church and culture—and they also are realizing that they haven’t been giving their children and others the necessary answers to the skeptical questions of this age.
For today’s blog, I thought it would be good to give you a real feel for this meeting. I wish you all could have been there.
1. Two photographs taken inside the auditorium to give you somewhat of a feel for what it was like
2. A photograph of the senior pastor (Ken Whitten) and me after the second service
3. Two photographs of the people lined up to purchase their resources
4. Photographs of a few families who wanted to meet me
Thanks for your prayers. Please pray that each of these books, DVDs, and other resources will be used to call children and adults back to biblical authority and to proclaim the gospel so many will be saved as God blesses. And I want to thank Pastor Whitten, the rest of the church leadership, and my long-time friend Woody Arbo for making this outreach possible.
The Lord hath bidden him—clean houseThanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,(2Sa 16:11) And David said to Abishai, and to all his servants, Behold, my son, which came forth of my bowels, seeketh my life: how much more now may this Benjamite do it? let him alone, and let him curse; for the LORD hath bidden him.
When trouble comes our first thought should be to examine ourselves to see if we are harboring sin that we have not been willing to deal with.
