I am a real fan of AiG’s cartoonist, Dan Lietha! He is able to encapsulate in a cartoon some very difficult concepts and make it easy for people to understand and enjoy at the same time. Not only is there a great library of his cartoons on AiG’s website, but a different one goes up each week. I encourage you to make sure you check out After Eden on AiG’s website. You will enjoy browsing through the cartoons and you will begin to really look forward to the new ones.
Not only did I enjoy Dan’s “Sports fan?” cartoon (which we brought back for Super Bowl Sunday), but so did those who checked out the website. Here is the cartoon, and below is an email you will enjoy reading:
We don’t watch National Geographic much around here (so I can keep my blood pressure under control). Ha! I sent the Super Bowl cartoon out to my whole (small) church and also to my friends on the day before the Super Bowl. Occasionally, I also use your cartoons in my homeschool newsletter. Hopefully the cartoons will lead people to check out the great things offered at AIG.
I know the “sensitive soul” of a writer or artist can be easily crushed by thoughtless comments. As a writer, I know the pain that can come when someone attacks “your baby” and that so few people seem to share their positive thoughts—while they consider it their bound duty to share the negative ones. So, thank you for putting your work and your heart on the firing line and for sharing your talent, even though I know it hurts at times. May the Lord bless you for this offering to Him. After all He does (and has done) for us, I wonder how many times our own thoughtless words and actions have broken His heart?
I have also found in my own life that it is impossible to “out give” God. He always repays me “pressed down and shaken together” for any tiny sacrifice I make for Him. I know that my feeble efforts can never repay the great gift He gave us when He died to redeem us.
. . . but I want to spend my life trying!
“But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved); And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 2:4–7
I trust you too will become an After Eden fan!
I wanted to include the testimony below specifically because of the reference to the Creation Museum DVDs that many people are now purchasing. Churches are showing them as part of their worship service—they are being used in many places to reach people with the creation/gospel message. They are phenomenal apologetics tools for this age. You can find out more information about them and how to purchase them from our website.
I just got home after attending a lecture by Ken Ham in Lancaster, CA. (And thanks so much to Grace Chapel for hosting his visit!) It was out-of-this-world great! I’ve heard many of his lectures and interviews, and tonight he gave an exceptionally polished delivery. Riveting and compelling! The only big surprise was that he failed to mention that today was Australia Day (national holiday Down Under). But what was particularly outstanding were the three Creation Museum display-videos he shared with us (Eyes, Mt. St. Helens, and the dramatization of the beginning of the Flood). I already own the complete set of enhanced DVDs you published at the end of last year, but seeing these particular snippets in the context of a Ken Ham lecture really made them sparkle like diamonds under alternate lighting!
You will not be sorry if you obtain a set of the museum DVDs—I encourage you to do so.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying.
Ken
