For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, I do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that you might be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. (Colossians 1:9)
On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many. (2 Corinthians 1:10–11)
Dear praying friends of Answers in Genesis,
We encourage you to stay updated on current ministry prayer requests through the following means:
As AiG continues to equip Christians and evangelize the lost, there are several major initiatives we want to bring to your attention for earnest prayer.
Please pray for the Ark Encounter project construction as we eagerly look forward to the July 7, 2016, opening date here in Northern Kentucky. Pray for the construction workers’ safety and for the work to be accomplished in a timely manner. Also please ask that God will prepare the hearts of those who will come tour the Ark. Pray that they will be influenced by the powerful gospel presentation and that many will commit their lives to Jesus Christ.
Another major initiative, just completed, is one that equips the church with a much-needed Sunday school curriculum, which will help children, teens, and adults to have answers for the Christian faith. Pray for its wide distribution. Designed for all age levels and covering three years’ worth of Sundays, Answers Bible Curriculum (ABC) will, we pray, help stem the tide of so many young people leaving the church because they don’t have answers to the challenging questions skeptics pose about the Bible. Sadly, many teens and young adults who attend Christian colleges are also leaving the church and others are losing confidence in the Bible because of the compromised teaching they receive at school (which is one of the themes of our book Already Compromised). Now that we have completed three years of this engaging curriculum, we are working on updating the content for a future edition of ABC.
Please pray for this summer’s Answers Vacation Bible School (VBS) program called Ocean Commotion. Every day our kids are challenged to stand for God at school, among their friends, and in our culture. And they are bombarded constantly with the lie that God’s Word isn’t true when it talks about earthly things (i.e. rocks, fossils), so it can’t be trusted when it talks about spiritual things. This year’s Ark-themed VBS will encourage kids to stand for God, obey God, trust God, thank God, and fear God, no matter what, just like Noah did. They will learn apologetics while being encouraged to follow the godly example of Noah. Please pray for the children who will attend Ocean Commotion at churches around the world this summer, for their parents, and for our curriculum team as it plans future VBS programs.
Finally, we ask you to pray that many individuals and families, Christian and non-Christian alike, will come to Northern Kentucky to visit the Creation Museum as well as the Ark Encounter. We want to see people put their faith and trust in God and in His Word from the very beginning! We want to introduce them to the life-changing message of the gospel of Jesus Christ, perhaps for the first time, and we also want to equip them with the answers they need for the skeptical questions they are sure to encounter. Please pray that many people will come and will be impacted for eternity.
Our ongoing prayer is that our nation’s churches will stand with us to proclaim the vital truth that God's Word can be trusted, from Genesis to the gospel to the rest of the New Testament.
We believe that prayer is our most strategic weapon in waging the war against compromise on God’s Word, and AiG encourages you to make a commitment to lifting up the rebuilding of biblical foundations in our church and culture. We ask that you pray throughout the day as God brings Answers in Genesis to mind and to consider fasting once a month, asking God to glorify His name in the ministry of AiG.
