The kingdom was divided into two nations—Israel and Judah. 2 Chronicles tells of the southern kingdom of Judah and the kings that reigned there after Solomon died. It tells of the disobedience and idolatry of the people and God’s punishment on them when He sent King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon to destroy Jerusalem and the Temple of God and to bring many Jews captive to Babylon.
