Is There Life on Other Planets?

Your Big Questions

on July 1, 2022

Some evolutionists think that if life evolved on earth, then life must have evolved on other planets too. But the Bible tells us that God created earth special, with the perfect features to be a home for living things (Isaiah 45:18). For example, if the earth were a little closer to the sun, we would burn up, or if it were a little farther away, we’d freeze!

Isaiah 45:12

The Bible doesn’t tell us that God created life to exist on other planets. But if scientists ever do discover plant or animal life on another planet, we can be sure that God created it.

We don’t expect to find humans (or other intelligent life) on other planets because every human comes from the first man, Adam, who was created on this earth. Humans are the only creature that God created in his image.

Because of Adam’s disobedience in the garden of Eden, we are all sinners. God sent his son, Jesus, to provide a way for us to be saved when we turn away from our sin and put our trust in him. Jesus came to earth as God in the flesh to offer salvation through his death and resurrection—another reason we believe that earth is the only place with life.

Think It Over

Evolutionist—Someone who believes that one kind of animal can change into a totally different kind of animal. For example, an evolutionist might believe that dinosaurs evolved into birds, but the Bible tells us that birds and dinosaurs were created on separate days of creation week. Evolutionists also believe that ape-like creatures evolved into humans over millions of years.

Can you think of something special on earth that makes life possible (for example, liquid water)?
