Most people are familiar with the distinctive whinny of horses. Apparently, this vocalization has been a bit of a mystery to scientists since the domestic horse manages to make both a high and a low frequency sound at the same time. Well, according to a new study, researchers now know how horses do it.

Horses use a process known as “biphonation” in order to produce two frequencies simultaneously. According to the researchers:

They generate the lower tone by vibrating their vocal folds, similar to the way humans create sound while singing. At the same time, they create a high pitched sound by whistling inside the larynx.

Horses are the only large mammal known to be capable of whistling with their larynx (small rodents, like mice and rats, can also do it). Interestingly, Przewalski’s horses (Mongolian wild horses) also produce this whistle, but other members of the horse kind, including zebras and donkeys, don’t appear to produce both frequencies.

But, of course, the researchers give credit for this complex process to random chance evolutionary processes.

The researchers suggest that this vocal ability likely evolved so horses can communicate multiple independent signals at once.

Horses are indeed very communicative, both with their voices and with their body language and facial expressions. But this ability did not evolve.

Horses are indeed very communicative, both with their voices and with their body language and facial expressions. But this ability did not evolve (nor do the researchers have any evidence that it did!)—they only assume it did because of their evolutionary presuppositions built on a secular worldview by which they interpret the evidence (although it’s a false interpretation).

I recently shared a news article that highlighted the difference between observational and historical science in a study. Well, this article highlights the role of presuppositions and worldview: The researchers assume evolution, and they discovered that horses use biphonation to communicate; therefore, they conclude that biphonation must have evolved to help horses communicate. But they’re just assuming it evolved! It’s circular reasoning based on an arbitrary authority—man’s opinion.

Horse communication didn’t evolve. The horse kind was created by God with the ability to communicate from the beginning. And horses that use biphonation do so not by evolutionary luck but because God created them with the genetic potential to do so.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,

I have a quiz for you today. Do you recognize these Australian animals? I recently took these pictures while wrapping up our time in major cities in Australia as part of the Gospel Reset Tour. It was such a blessing—but more on that after the quiz.

Can you identify these six animals?

I’ll give you the correct answers at the end, but first I want to share a few stories from our incredible tour down under. The Lord really blessed this tour (involving myself, E.Z. Zwayne from Living Waters, Heidi St. John, and astronaut Barry Wilmore as speakers). We heard so many incredible stories, but I’ll share just three of my favorites:

At the Brisbane conference, I met a man who was a student in one of the science classes I taught at Dalby High School (way back in 1975–76). He also said he was in Dalby Baptist Church with his parents in 1975 when I gave my first-ever creation apologetics talk. He was thrilled to attend the Brisbane conference.

At all the conferences (but especially in Brisbane), I met people who told me they heard me speak back in the 70s and 80s when they were children, and now they had brought their families to the conference to hear me. Many told me their parents supported us financially and made sure their children learned the material we were teaching. They are now continuing that spiritual legacy for the next generation.

One family told me they know someone who was in my science class in Dalby and that what I taught so impacted her, God used that to bring her to salvation.

Praise the Lord for the continuing impact of ministry decades ago and ongoing ministry.

Praise the Lord for the continuing impact of ministry decades ago and ongoing ministry. We pray that the Lord uses this tour to make a similar impact.

Let’s see how you did on the quiz. The animals are: a wombat, an echidna, a cassowary, a dingo, fruit (or flying fox) bats, and a pied cormorant.

Oh, and if you’d like more content like these testimonies and other behind-the-scenes stories, I encourage you to sign up for our exclusive VIP emails (and when you sign up, you’ll be entered to win an annual pass or even a lifetime pass to our attractions!).

Praise the Lord with us for what he’s doing through this ministry and please continue to pray for us.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,

Do Humans and Turtles Share “Key Brain Function” Going Back 320 Million Years?

The first sentence of a recent popular science article is a perfect example of the difference between observational science (testable, observable, and repeatable) and historical science (an interpretation of the past based on worldview—a belief). See if you can catch the switch between observational and historical science in this story about brain similarities between turtles and humans.

The article is titled, “Israeli researchers find humans and turtles, share key brain function going back 320 million years.” The first sentence reads,

Israeli scientists have discovered, through research on living turtles, that the brain’s ability to distinguish between new objects and the same object seen from different angles likely evolved at least 320 million years ago, when mammals and reptiles split from a common ancestor, according to a recently published study.

Did you see it?

Observational science is directly testable, observable, and repeatable—it’s science done in the “here and now.” So the researchers’ study of the living turtles’ brains is observational science. Here’s how they did it:

By recording neural activity in the turtles and tracking their eye movement with specially developed cameras, the researchers . . . were able to examine how the turtle brain responded to repetitions of the same visual stimulus and the introduction of a new stimulus, as they moved their eyes, and the stimuli fell on different parts of the retina.

But then the researchers quickly move into historical science, where they take their evolutionary worldview and apply it to the observed evidence, jumping from observations of turtles’ cognitive ability to the assumption that it evolved 320 million years ago. Obviously, they did not observe that. It’s an assumption they made because of their beliefs about the past.

Both classes of creatures [mammals and reptiles] evolved from a common ancestor that left the water and moved onto land. It is thought that this ancestor had a three-layered cerebral cortex (turtles still have three, while mammals now have a six-layered one) and visual abilities that far exceeded those of fish and other marine creatures, which can only see short distances.

Turtles having a three-layered cerebral cortex and the ability to distinguish objects from multiple angles is observational science. The supposed idea that humans and turtles share this ability because of a common ancestor from 320 million years ago has not been observed—it’s their (faulty) worldview being applied to the evidence.

It’s vital that everyone understand the difference between historical and observational science—and the ultimate foundation of the competing worldviews of creation and evolution. It’s really God’s Word vs. man’s word!

It’s vital that everyone understand the difference between historical and observational science—and the ultimate foundation of the competing worldviews of creation and evolution.

So did researchers demonstrate that turtles and humans share a key brain function because of shared ancestry? No, not at all. They simply demonstrated that turtles have the ability, like we do, to distinguish the same object from multiple angles. In a biblical worldview, we know that’s because God designed the brains of both humans and turtles and gave us both what we need to survive and thrive in our fallen world.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,

I’m excited to announce something new being offered at the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter—guided tours!

Inspire Tours has been offering tours at the Museum of the Bible, along with international excursions, for several years now, and they’re bringing their mission to provide “experiences that deepen faith” to our two attractions.

Now you have the option to add a tour to your visit by selecting a tour date from Inspire’s online calendar for the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter, or you can choose to add a tour after you arrive (however, tour group sizes are limited; purchasing in advance is recommended to ensure they’re not sold out on your visit date). These 90-minute tours offer an enriching experience that highlights key exhibits and illuminates Scripture.

I and others at AiG worked with Inspire to provide the scripts/content for their tours. So it is all AiG endorsed and approved. Many people and groups have asked for such guided tours over the years, so we are thrilled this is now a reality.

I encourage you to plan your visit to the world’s leading Christian themed attractions soon and consider adding a guided tour. We’ve all seen diagrams of the evolutionary tree of life: a common trunk that rises up before splitting off into various branches which split into even more branches. This tree supposedly explains the origins of every species from a universal common ancestor that lived untold millions of years ago. But is it accurate?

Textbooks, video programs, and nearly every natural history museum in the US would say that, yes, it is. But this idea of an evolutionary tree of life faces an insurmountable problem: There’s no mechanism by which to push evolution forward!

This idea of an evolutionary tree of life faces an insurmountable problem: There’s no mechanism by which to push evolution forward!

You see, to turn a single-celled organism into all the life forms we have today, you need a process that can create brand-new, functioning genetic information to code for all of the new features. But information only comes from other information! We’ve never observed information arising from non-information! There’s no law of nature that states this can happen. Quite the opposite, the law of biogenesis tells us life only comes from life! Yet evolution requires the accumulation of massive amounts of new information (and it has to be functional information for it to be of any evolutionary use!). But that’s never been observed.

The evolutionary “tree of life” isn’t accurate—it’s a fairy tale that’s unsupported by the observational evidence.

Dr. Terry Mortenson dismantles evolution, biblically and scientifically, in a one-hour video recently posted to our Answers in Genesis YouTube channel. I encourage you to watch and share it with others.

“Conference season” is beginning at the Ark Encounter with our sold-out Answers for Men event just around the corner and then our Answers for Women—two identical back-to-back conferences (one is already sold out)—followed by our unique Answers Homeschool Experience. And I thought I’d share with you some of the feedback we received last year because it highlights how powerful and unique our conferences really are.

These comments were left by women who attended our 2025 Answers for Women conference—we received hundreds of comments, and they nearly all had the same theme: “Truly ‘no fluff in your stuff’!” Women left equipped and encouraged and challenged after times of biblical teaching, worship, and fellowship.

“Going home to clean out my library.”

“I am convicted and challenged and uncomfortable—in the best way—I am going home fed and empowered with truth and a game plan: daily time in the Word, and holding EVERYTHING up to scripture.”

“My 13-year-old daughter and I have had some great discussions as a result of hearing the speakers.”

“I have been sick in a rut in my spiritual growth for a few years now. This conference was a wakeup call for me. I have new energy and conviction that I need to do more in Scripture and obedience.”

“I truly was so blessed by this conference. I was invited last second and took a leap of faith. I grew my faith exponentially, I was truly blown away. I am already signed up to come next year. I decided not to attend other conferences so I could come in the future. There is a plethora of things that I feel called to change in my life in result of this conference. I am grateful to the Lord and his provision!!!”

“I’ve been searching for a women’s conference that was not fluff and dealt with the hard topics of current culture. This has been incredibly helpful with so many sessions and speakers sprinkled with God honoring music and vendors. Thank you!”

“I appreciate the conversations my daughter and I had during the conference about the topics and she begged me to bring her next year.”

“Nothing fru-fru. Carnivore diet!”

“Loved the speakers, thank you for the meet & greets! My daughter (13) gleans so much from the speakers!!! Good solid biblical truth to counteract the cultural influences in her life is SO WONDERFUL!!! I’m seeing God work in her and He’s growing me to be more solid in my understanding of Him and His Word as well. Thank you!!! Can’t wait for next year’s theme and speakers!!!”

Yes, our conferences really are unique and filled with powerful teaching. I encourage you to make plans to attend one, such as Answers for Women 2026, happening April 6–8 at the Ark Encounter. This year’s theme is Anchored: Pursuing Biblical Sexuality in a Turbulent World. You won’t want to miss it! Early bird pricing is still available—register today (and bring your teenage daughters—so many women commented on the conversations they were able to have with their daughters during and after the conference). We hope to see you there!

Thanks to our sponsors, BJU Press, Christian Community Credit Union, Concerned Women for America, and Nutramax Laboratories for their support of this conference.

Find all our events on our calendar.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
Ken

This item was written with the assistance of AiG’s research team.

In Canada, saying we’re created male and female (which is what God’s Word clearly states) is now a hate crime punishable by a $750,000 fine. That was the ruling handed down to Barry Neufeld, a former British Columbia school trustee “who had publicly campaigned against the idea that gender was a ‘social construct.’” He believes—and publicly stated—that the whole transgender issue is an ideology and that teaching it to kids can prime them for abuse. And apparently, that’s a crime!

Neufeld’s case has been in the courts for nine years, and the BC Human Rights Tribunal recently handed down its decision, calling Neufeld’s public comments based on his beliefs “dehumanizing,” “delegitimizing,” and “extremely serious and damaging.” Why? Because:

If a person elects not to “believe” that gender identity is separate from sex assigned at birth, then they do not “believe” in transpeople. This is a form of existential denial.

Yes, this Canadian human “rights” tribunal really believes that protecting children from irreversible hormones and surgeries amounts to the “erasure” of transgender people. But it’s the tribunal that is standing against observational science and God’s Word. It’s simply biological reality that humans are either male or female. To say otherwise isn’t biology—it’s ideology.

And this isn’t the only example of Canadians being persecuted in this way. The article sharing the tribunal’s ruling gave other recent examples, including:

In 2025, “a private individual was fined $10,000 by the B.C. Human Rights Tribunal for expressing concerns to a friend about their upcoming double-mastectomy. As the surgery was intended to affirm the friend’s trans identity, the tribunal ruled the comments discriminatory.”

This month, “the Quebec Human Rights Tribunal ordered a Montreal salon named Station10 to pay $500 to a non-binary activist who had objected to its menu offering men’s and women’s haircuts.”

In January, “the B.C. Human Rights Tribunal sided with a complainant described as a non-binary individual who presents ‘as a trans masculine butch woman.’ The complainant alleged that while working a senior position at the BC Ferry & Marine Workers’ Union, a colleague used ‘she/her’ pronouns instead of ‘they/them’ pronouns.” The so-called “non-binary” individual received an $8,000 settlement.

We need to pray for Canada! LGBTQ+ ideology has completely taken over the courts, and free speech and freedom of religion are increasingly being infringed upon.

LGBTQ+ ideology has completely taken over the courts, and free speech and freedom of religion are increasingly being infringed upon.

Many people believe “woke is dead” in the United States, but that’s not really true—it’s just simmering on the back burner, waiting until the political winds change, and then it will be unleashed more aggressively than ever. What’s happening in countries around the world, like in Canada, reminds us that we’re still in the midst of a raging spiritual battle and that we must be equipped to speak boldly for truth and protect children—no matter the consequences.

If you’re a woman, I urge you to be equipped by attending our upcoming Answers for Women weekday conference at the Ark Encounter, April 6–8, 2026. The theme this year is Anchored: Pursuing Biblical Sexuality in a Turbulent World. Speakers including Megan Basham, Dr. Albert Mohler, Heidi St. John, Dr. Rosaria Butterfield, Dr. Christopher Yuan, and many more will equip you to think biblically on this vital topic and be ready to stand in defense of biblical truth.

Registration also includes admission to the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum, worship with Michael O’Brien, a concert with Shane & Shane, a drama from Logos Theatre, a curated vendor hall, and more. I encourage you to bring your teenage daughters too—this topic is so timely, and our young people must be grounded in biblical truth. Early bird pricing ends soon, so be sure to register today.

Thanks to our sponsors, BJU Press, Christian Community Credit Union, Concerned Women for America, and Nutramax Laboratories for their support of this conference.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,

Most Christians know that our enemy, Satan, was originally an angel who served God before his pride led to rebellion and he was cast down to earth. But when did this event happen in history?

Some Christians put it between Genesis 1:1 and 1:2, but there’s not even a hint of this in the text and it puts angelic sin in God’s original “very good” creation, so we know that option isn’t correct (this idea was merely invented as a way to accommodate millions of years). And Exodus 20:11 rules out any such gap as everything, from Genesis 1:1 and onward, was created in six days. So when did it happen?

Well, I’ve been asked this question a lot over the years, and we recently filmed a short video where I answer this question, starting with the biblical text.

Developed nations across the world are speeding toward a population collapse simply because people aren’t having children (and they are killing millions of them through abortion). Here in the United States, the fertility rate continues to fall every year and is already below replacement level at just 1.6 births per woman in 2024 (an all-time low). And a new estimate from the Congressional Budget Office is even more pessimistic than last year’s.

By 2030—just four years from now—the number of deaths is expected to exceed the number of births.

Last year, the CBO estimated that in 2050 the US population would peak at 372 million people before beginning to decline. This year, they’ve apparently revised that by 8 million (bringing the anticipated number down to 364 million) because of “smaller projected net immigration through 2029 and lower projected fertility rates through 2055.” By 2030—just four years from now—the number of deaths is expected to exceed the number of births.

The population drop-off developed nations are forecasting (and beginning to vividly see in places like Japan) is not surprising. We’ve told generations of young women and men that marriage and family are just a choice some people make but are not inherently valuable in themselves, that children will hold back their careers or keep them from doing the things they want to do, that pets are a replacement for a child, and that babies are a choice rather than a gift from the Creator. This kind of philosophy has consequences! And the nose-diving birth rate is just one of them.

Of course, we’re also missing over 66 million US citizens who were never born because they were murdered in their mothers’ wombs via abortion! And we aren’t just missing them . . . because they were never born, we’re also missing the kids and grandkids they could have had.

In a biblical worldview, children are a blessing—a gift from the Creator—and family is the backbone of society.

Ideology has consequences. And the anti-natal views of our current cultural climate that elevates personal autonomy and freedom while devaluing the beauty and gift of family and children certainly have grave consequences.

In a biblical worldview, children are a blessing—a gift from the Creator—and family is the backbone of society. It’s the first and most fundamental institution God created.

So God created man in his own image,
  in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.

And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it. . . .” (Genesis 1:27–28)

It won’t be long before America will be feeling the societal and economic effects of the plunging birth rate. So what’s the answer? Well, it’s the same answer to every single other societal problem plaguing us today: It’s the truth of God’s Word and the gospel of Jesus Christ. That’s what changes lives for now and eternity.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,

There are so many more facets to the Answers in Genesis ministry than most people realize! Operating the world’s two leading Christian themed attractions means we’ve had to build a wide variety of teams to meet our guests’ needs—including our public safety team with our working canines. And that allows us to host a unique event: a K9 conference for law enforcement and others in public safety.

We recently hosted our fourth annual K9 conference at the Ark Encounter with a total of 50 K9 teams from across the United States participating in this four-day event. Throughout the conference, the K9s and their handlers engaged in over 30 scenarios set in various locations across the Ark Encounter property.

This conference helps K9 handlers from law enforcement and the private sector enhance their training, handling, and performance. Master trainers from across the country shared their expertise to improve the teams’ skills. Sessions included lectures and hands-on activities regarding the use of K9s, imprinting on various odors (including explosives and narcotics), scenario-based odor detection training, box work, individual and team challenges, and more! The K9s and their handlers also went through a stress-test obstacle course that filled the entire Answers Center.

This conference continues to grow every year as word spreads throughout the K9 handler community. Not only will this kind of training help save lives, but the officers who participated also had an opportunity (which was optional) to hear the gospel and the message of the truth of God’s Word. Praise the Lord!

We’re thrilled our Department of Public Safety can work with outside law enforcement to help all of them provide the best level of security they can in this troublesome world (even if atheists get mad that it’s Christians offering this world-class training!).

Please pray the Lord uses their time at the Ark—not just that they’ll be better equipped to serve as a result of the training they received, but that seeds of the gospel were planted and watered and will lead to an abundant harvest.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,

What’s the most important part of a church service?

From the beginning of this ministry, I have given testimony of my parents raising their children to stand on the authority of God’s Word, never knowingly compromise God’s Word, and have a heart for reaching people with the gospel message.

I have testified many times of my father’s leadership of my family and how he led us to stand boldly on the Bible’s authority. We all saw our parents’ love for God and his Word and their heart for the gospel. I can’t emphasize the impact our parents had on our lives enough. As I’ve often stated, Answers in Genesis is part of the legacy of our godly parents.

What a blessing it was recently when I received the following testimony from a lady in Australia after she read the book that details the history of Answers in Genesis from my birth to the present. What I loved is that she testified to what I’ve always said about my parents. She wrote:

I recently ordered a copy of Ken Ham’s new book Miraculous! and have been absolutely astounded at what has been achieved from Ken’s very humble beginnings as a high school teacher.

For several years in the late 1970s, I attended the Acacia Ridge Presbyterian Church in Brisbane. Ken and Marylyn (Mally) and several of their young children were there, along with Ken’s sister Rosemary and her husband Paul, and their young twins, another sister Beverly (a friend of mine in the church youth group), and of course, Ken’s parents, Merv and Norma. On more than one occasion, I was invited to Merv and Norma’s home, probably for Sunday lunch. At the time, I was a trainee nurse at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane and a fairly young Christian.

As I have read the book, I have reflected on many things. Norma always said that when Ken was very ill with sepsis, she believed he would be healed and was destined to do great things for God. At times, Merv preached or spoke at the church, and I have never forgotten him reading the Scriptures one Sunday morning and stating that the reading of the Bible in a church service was the most important part of the whole service. Such godly people, and I am forever indebted to so many people who were influential in my life when I was a fledgling Christian.

In recent times I came across some children’s books written by Ken and purchased some for my grandsons—how wonderfully written they are and much appreciated by our family. I have since ordered more resources to give out at Christmastime to younger members of our family and friends—I am passionate that children should grow up with a knowledge of the Scriptures. I might also add that I have always been a believer in the literal biblical account of creation.

Some of the accounts in Miraculous! are nail-biting to say the least and a testament to faith, prayer, and the hand and provision of God.

As I read this testimony, the following words really stood out to me. She wrote that my father said that “the reading of the Bible in a church service was the most important part of the whole service.” I must admit I had forgotten that he often said that. After reading it, I could “hear” my father saying exactly that. But note the impact my father’s stand (and my mother’s stand too) had on this person so many years ago. And who knows how many more people were impacted by my parents—not counting the millions now impacted through Answers in Genesis. I know there had to be so many others impacted directly by their lives as they proclaimed and lived out the truth of God’s Word and the gospel.

As we are in the second month of this new year, I want to once again emphasize that Answers in Genesis is really an evangelistic biblical authority ministry. That’s always been our focus. In our day, the lies of evolution/millions of years have been a major part of the attacks on biblical authority, particularly on the authority of Genesis 1–11. This is why we have also specialized in providing resources to teach creation apologetics (as well as general apologetics) in regard to a defense of the Christian faith.

He was always emphasizing the authority of God’s Word.

Every time my father was reading scripture and he came across phrases like “it is written,” “thus says the Lord,” and so on, he would stop and talk about the authority of the Word of God. He was always emphasizing the authority of God’s Word. And depending on which translation you use, phrases like “thus says the Lord” or “thus says Yahweh” (LSB) occur 3–400 times throughout Scripture.

As we are in the early part of a new year, I thought it would be good to ponder some special verses from Scripture which remind us of the vital importance of the Word of God (all from the LSB):

All Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be equipped, having been thoroughly equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16–17)

Forever, O Yahweh, Your word stands firm in heaven. (Psalm 119:89)

Do not add to His words lest He reprove you, and you be proved a liar. (Proverbs 30:6)

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. (Romans 10:17)

For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)

So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, without accomplishing what pleases Me, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it. (Isaiah 55:11)

And ponder the events Nehemiah records:

And all the people gathered as one man at the square which was in front of the Water Gate, and they said to Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the law of Moses which Yahweh had commanded to Israel. . . . And he read from it before the square which was in front of the Water Gate from early morning until midday, in the presence of men and women, those who could understand; and all the ears of the people were attentive to the book of the law. . . . And Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people for he was above all the people; and when he opened it, all the people stood up. Then Ezra blessed Yahweh the great God. And all the people answered, “Amen, Amen!” while lifting up their hands; then they bowed low and worshiped Yahweh with their faces to the ground. (Nehemiah 8:1, 3, 5–6 LSB)

Do you think we would have the patience to hear the Word of God read from early morning to midday? And consider this, when Ezra opened the book, “all the people stood up.” Wow! What reverence and respect for God’s Word!

Over the past 50 years, I have visited hundreds of churches from many different denominations. In some churches they sit down to sing and stand up to pray and read God’s Word. For some, they stand to sing and sit down to pray. In some churches they don’t even sit down! But when I read Ezra, I think, “Did they stand up for the whole morning while Ezra read from God’s Word?” Scripture tells us they stood for about six hours! Would any of us be prepared to do that today? I must admit with my chronic back issues, I couldn’t stand that long, but I think God would understand the effects of the fall causing me problems.

How many people in our churches do you think would have such reverence and respect of God’s Word as the people in Ezra’s day did? Now, please don’t get me wrong. I love music and love singing and praising God. But sometimes I wonder if the emphasis in a lot of churches today is much more on music than it is on the reading and preaching of the Word.

My favorite expositional preacher is Martyn Lloyd-Jones. He preached at Westminster Church in London during the last century. He was a phenomenal defender of the Christian faith and preached a lot on the importance of biblical authority. He greatly challenged the church on this topic. In one of his published sermons on the authority of Scripture based on Ephesians 6:14, he stated the following:

There can be no doubt whatsoever that all the troubles in the Church today, and most of the troubles in the world, are due to a departure from the authority of the Bible. And, alas, it was the Church herself that led in the so-called Higher Criticism that came from Germany just over a hundred years ago. Human philosophy took the place of revelation, man’s opinions were exalted and Church leaders talked about “the advance of knowledge and science,” and “the assured results” of such knowledge. The Bible then became a book just like any other book, out of date in certain respects, wrong in other respects, and so on. It was no longer a book on which you could rely implicitly. There is no question at all that the falling away, even in Church attendance, in this country is the direct consequence of the Higher Criticism. The man in the street says, “What do these Christians know? It is only their opinion, they are just perpetrating something that the real thinkers and scientists have long since seen through and have stopped considering.” Such is the attitude of the man in the street! He does not listen any longer, he has lost all interest. The whole situation is one of drift; and very largely, I say, it is the direct and immediate outcome of the doubt that has been cast by the Church herself upon her only real authority. Men’s opinions have taken the place of God’s truth, and the people in their need are turning to the cults, and are listening to any false authority that offers itself to them.

We all therefore have to face this ultimate and final question: Do we accept the Bible as the Word of God, as the sole authority in all matters of faith and practice, or do we not? Is the whole of my thinking governed by Scripture, or do I come with my reason and pick and choose out of Scripture and sit in judgment upon it, putting myself and modern knowledge forward as the ultimate standard and authority? The issue is crystal clear. Do I accept Scripture as a revelation from God, or do I trust to speculation, human knowledge, human learning, human understanding and human reason? Or, putting it still more simply, Do I pin my faith to, and subject all my thinking to, what I read in the Bible? Or do I defer to modern knowledge, to modern learning, to what people think today, to what we know at this present time which was not known in the past? It is inevitable that we occupy one or the other of those two positions.1

Wow! You would think he was preaching to the church today! This message he gave in the twentieth century is just as relevant in the twenty-first century. Really, this message he preached is the same message Answers in Genesis is preaching—and it’s the same message my father preached!

The solution to the social and moral issues and the solution for a lukewarm and compromising church is God’s authoritative Word and the gospel (there are, of course, exceptions). God’s Word and the gospel have always been the solution to man’s problems ever since Genesis 3, which we see in the prophecy in Genesis 3:15.

At Answers in Genesis, we will continue to proclaim the gospel as we stand on the authority and truth of God’s Word from Genesis 1:1 without compromise.

Your prayers and financial support are vital to helping us boldly continue the ministry that the Lord has called us to do—would you prayerfully consider sending a generous gift today at AnswersDonate.com? Your donation of any size will be a great blessing to AiG.

Thank you for being part of our Answers in Genesis family and supporting us prayerfully and financially. Please know that support is an investment in eternity as we reach as many as we can with the truth of God’s Word and the saving gospel.

In Christ,

The writers and editors over at Popular Science are confused. In an article highlighting new research on elephant whiskers, they write, “An elephant’s trunk is a wonder of evolution.” Then in the same paragraph, they state, “[The whiskers] have a design”—well, which is it? Did the elephant’s trunk and whiskers evolve or do they have design? Evolutionists often use the word “design” but are oblivious to what they are really stating!

When science writers describe the wonders of creation, they can’t seem to help using that word “design,” even as they attribute complexity to evolution. But evolution can’t “design” anything. It’s supposedly a mindless, purposeless, random process. It has no ability to design or create. And yet that word is used over and over because, well, creation looks designed! (Because it was!)

Take, for example, these elephant whiskers. An elephant has 1,000 of them on its trunk. Together with a network of extremely precise muscles, these whiskers allow elephants to pick up something as delicate as a tortilla chip without breaking it. But scientists weren’t exactly sure how the whiskers worked. So they scanned several elephant whiskers with micro-CT and discovered that the whiskers weren’t at all like what they expected.

Initially, the team expected that the whiskers would be more similar to the tapered whiskers of mice and rats. These rodent whiskers have a circular cross-section, are completely solid throughout, and have approximately uniform stiffness. . . .

Elephant trunk whiskers are more thick and blade-like, have a flattened cross-section, a hollow base, and several long internal channels that look more like the structure of sheep horns and horse hooves. Having a more porous build reduces the whisker’s mass and provides impact resistance—which helps them eat hundreds of pounds of food without damaging their whiskers.

These whiskers, which they note have similarities to cat whiskers, were also surprising because they have “stiff bases that transition to soft rubber-like tips.” This is an important design feature that “keeps them in tact and helps let the elephant determine what it is feeling. The team believes that elephant whiskers’ unusual stiffness gradient helps them know precisely where an object is coming into contact along each of their 1,000 trunk whiskers.”

One of the study coauthors said,

It’s pretty amazing! The stiffness gradient provides a map to allow elephants to detect where contact occurs along each whisker. . . . This property helps them know how close or how far their trunk is from an object . . . all baked into the geometry, porosity, and stiffness of the whisker. Engineers call this natural phenomenon embodied intelligence.

Something as seemingly “simple” as a whisker is actually more complex than previously thought—so much so that these engineers believe the whiskers have “embodied intelligence.” They’re also hopeful the research could help sensors on robots achieve more precision through the whiskers’ “simple yet intelligent design” . . . and yet they give the credit to random chance processes.

As much as evolutionists want to deny it, it is obvious from creation that there is a Creator.

As much as evolutionists want to deny it, it is obvious from creation that there is a Creator. As I’ve said in the past (and my dear friend Buddy Davis would sing), “It’s designed to do what it does do, what it does do it does do well, doesn’t it?” We see the handiwork of God in everything he’s made, right down to the individual parts that make up something as complicated as an elephant!

You can learn more about the complexity of elephants in this video from our YouTube channel:

Millions of Americans visit national parks every year. And millions of Americans are indoctrinated with evolutionary and long-ages teachings by the explanatory signs at these attractions. You really can’t trust these signs—they certainly aren’t written from a biblical-worldview perspective. So how should you address these signs with your kids while you’re on vacation?

Well, here are my top three tips:

Use these signs as an opportunity to help kids understand that we all have the same evidence. We have the same rocks, the same canyons, the same arches, the same fossils. But we come to different interpretations because of our different starting points—either man’s word or God’s Word.

Use the signs as an opportunity to highlight the difference between historical and observational science. Observational science is directly testable, observable, and repeatable. Historical science is an interpretation of the past, and your worldview shapes your interpretation. Have fun reading signs and figuring out together which claims are based on observational science and which are based on historical science.

Teach your kids to ask good questions. When you read claims on signage, ask, “How do they know that?” or “What evidence are they using to support that?” Like I’ve taught thousands of kids over the years, when we see claims about the past that contradict God’s Word, we should ask, “Were you there?” And the answer is no—no scientist, no human being (including me!), was there, but God was. And he’s given us a perfect eyewitness account of the past in his Word. This account (creation, the fall, the flood, and Babel) gives us the framework we need to properly interpret the evidence we have in the present.

If you’d like to visit one park—Grand Canyon—without having to reinterpret the signs, consider a trip with Canyon Ministries. Not only do they offer rim tours from a biblical worldview, but they offer exciting trips down the Colorado River inside the canyon. One such trip, coming up this summer (July 7–13, 2026), features AiG’s Roger Patterson and creation geologist Dr. John Whitmore. It’ll be an unforgettable time of apologetics, fellowship, and excitement.

<video class="js-video video jsHide" src="https://assets.answersingenesis.org/vid/blog/ken-ham/2026/2/GrandCanyonPromo.mp4" controls="controls" analytic="Grand Canyon Tour Promo"

Should We Support Transgender “Rights” Because “All Children Are Children of God”?

Should Christians support children destroying their bodies with cross-sex hormones and mutilating themselves because “all children are children of God”? Well, that’s the reasoning that our Kentucky governor, Andy Beshear, recently used on The View.

Talking about his motivations, he stated,

That’s my faith. Most of the decisions I make are based on that golden rule that says we love our neighbor as ourself. And that parable of the good Samaritan that says everyone is our neighbor.

And so when I’ve taken actions like vetoing the nastiest piece of anti-LGBTQ legislation that ever came through my state . . . I said my faith teaches me that all children are children of God. And I didn’t want people picking on those kids.

Of course, what he calls “picking on those kids,” I call protecting those kids! The bill he vetoed back in 2023 (which was later passed by the legislature) banned cross-sex hormones and puberty blockers (which are dangerous and not fully reversible) for kids, along with irreversible surgeries that remove healthy body parts. The bill also kept boys out of girls’ private spaces, stopped LGBTQ indoctrination in schools, and protected teachers’ conscientious rights—meaning they are not to be forced to use preferred pronouns.

But does the Christian faith teach that we should be allowing all those things because “all children are children of God”? This is an example of progressive Christians taking and championing something that sounds good and quasi-biblical while ignoring everything else the Bible says on the subject.

All people are made by God in his very image and are valuable. But not everyone is a child of God.

First of all, not all children are God’s children. Yes, all people are made by God in his very image and are valuable. But not everyone is a child of God. Only those—children or otherwise—who have been born again become children of God.

But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1:12–13)

Being a child of God is a right given to those who come to Jesus Christ in faith. It’s not something everyone is naturally born into (that’s why you must be born again!).

But perhaps Beshear just meant that all children are created by God—that’s true. (And yet he’s pro-abortion, so he doesn’t care about children being murdered in their mothers’ wombs. It’s all very inconsistent!) All children are created by God . . . and that means they are either male or female.

So God created man in his own image,
  in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them. (Genesis 1:27)

Yes, we live in a fallen world with genetic abnormalities such as rare intersex conditions (though intersex individuals are still genetically male or female), and there are people who struggle with their gender identity, but the biological reality of how God created us is that he made only two genders in humans: male and female.

Encouraging and enabling children to ignore their biology, adopting a sinful identity that only leads to harm, is not loving or kind.

Beshear’s argument ignores the Bible’s teaching while trying to use Christian language to persuade people. Encouraging and enabling children to ignore their biology, adopting a sinful identity that only leads to harm, is not loving or kind. It’s destructive to individuals and society.

If Beshear truly loved children as God’s Word tells us to, then he would be doing all he could to stop the murder of children in mothers’ wombs and stop the destructive mutilating impact of the transgender ideology!

Children need to be encouraged, no matter their feelings (feelings are always changing and cannot be trusted), to have an identity grounded in what God created them to be. And that message of true identity is what we’re sharing through a brand-new exhibit at the Creation Museum, Radiance. It’s stunning and is perfect for middle and high school students.

I strongly encourage you to bring your kids and grandkids to come see it (and if you visit this month, enjoy 20% off single-day general admission with code FEB2026 at checkout—and remember, kids 10 and under visit free!).

Plan your visit at CreationMuseum.org.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,

February 14 is Valentine’s Day, but I won’t discuss the history of this holiday as it may ruin it for you!

Instead, could you imagine your wife, fiancée, or girlfriend agreeing to go out with you for dinner on Valentine’s Day if you said to her, “You speak as one of the wickedly foolish women speaks,” and then you said, “My breath is offensive to [you]”?

I think that might be the end of that dinner plan!

But those are things Job said concerning his wife (see Job 2:10 and 19:17 LSB). Now, remember why he said what he did. When all the bad things happened to Job, his wife said, “Curse God and die!” (Job 2:9 LSB).

Job saw his wife’s words lacking wisdom and faith. That’s why he also said in verse 10, “Shall we indeed accept good from God and not accept calamity?” And that verse goes on to note: “In all this Job did not sin with his lips.”

He remained faithful to her.

The Scriptures make it clear that Job did not sin with all he said. So even though those words to his wife sound very negative, he obviously loved her and was committed to her. Despite his overwhelming suffering and his wife’s seeming bitterness for all that happened to them—after all, she lost children too—he remained faithful to her. From the text, it certainly seems she was still with him and bore him 10 more children after all his sorrows ended. Later on in Job, we get a sense of how faithful he was to her. One particular verse stands out that should challenge every man concerning how he should view his wife, fiancée, or girlfriend. This is the verse:

I have cut a covenant with my eyes; How
then could I gaze at a virgin? (Job 31:1 LSB)

I love what theologian John Gill said about this verse:

Not to look upon a woman, and wantonly gaze at her beauty, lest his heart should be drawn thereby to lust after her; for the eyes are inlets to many sins, and particularly to uncleanness, of which there have been instances, both in bad men and good men. . . . As if he had bound himself by a covenant, made a resolution in the strength of divine grace, not to employ his eyes in looking on objects that might ensnare his heart, and lead him to the commission of sin; he made use of all ways and means, and took every precaution to guard against it; and particularly this, to shut or turn his eyes from beholding what might be alluring and enticing to him. . . . He made a covenant with his eyes, to prevent any impure thoughts, desires, and inclinations in him; for the eye affects the heart, and stirs up lust in it, and excites unclean thoughts and unchaste desires: this shows that the thought of sin is sin.1

What a great admonition for every male who takes his valentine out for Valentine’s Day. Don’t look on other women and lust in your heart. Remain pure like Job did. Even after his wife said things that hurt him, Job remained faithful and loved her, showing his total commitment to her as his wife. He only had eyes for her.

As we read in Ecclesiastes 9:9 LSB, “See life with the woman whom you love all the days of your vain life, which He has given to you under the sun.”

And for husbands, take this verse to heart: “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her” (Ephesians 5:25 LSB).

Men, I challenge you to treat your valentine like Job treated his—pursuing purity within yourself and remaining faithful, committed, and loving.

A New York court has reached a landmark decision—the first of its kind in the United States—after a “detransitioner” named Fox Varian sued her psychologist and surgeon for medical malpractice regarding a double mastectomy she was given at age 16. The court sided with Varian, holding the doctors accountable for pressuring her into an irreversible surgery at such a young age.

According to reports,

Psychologist Kenneth Einhorn and surgeon Simon Chin were held responsible . . . for ignoring standards of care and procedural guardrails by pressuring the minor into addressing gender dysphoria with permanent surgery, the jury decided.

Lawyers for Varian pointed the finger at Einhorn, saying he “drove the train” and was “putting the idea in Fox’s head” that she needed to change her gender with surgery.

And this doctor didn’t just pressure the 16-year-old, but also her mother (a story we hear over and over again!), telling her that her daughter would commit suicide if she didn’t consent to the procedure. Reportedly her mother shared,

This man was just so emphatic, and pushing and pushing, that I felt like there was no good decision. . . . I think it was a scare tactic. I don’t believe it was malice, I think he believed what he was saying — but he was very, very wrong.

This is what so many parents of children who struggle with their gender identity are told—that they must allow their child to take puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones and even have surgery or they will lose their child. Rarely are parents or their children told of the physical risks of these procedures or the fact that studies show these measures don’t actually make things better!

Changing one’s body doesn’t change the biological reality that humans are either male or female.

The failure of the trans movement to help young people is not a surprise to those with a biblical worldview. A boy can’t be a girl, and a girl can’t be a boy. Changing one’s body doesn’t change the biological reality that humans are either male or female, nor does living in defiance of God’s created order of male and female bring lasting peace or joy. One cannot change one’s genetics!

It’s good to see doctors who have been involved with what really amounts to medical experimentation on children held accountable for their actions. As more such cases make their way through the courts (and there will be many more to come), I trust more doctors and hospitals will likewise be held accountable for their part in irreversibly damaging thousands of children and young people.

The answer to identity issues isn’t body-mutilating surgeries—it’s God’s Word and the gospel of Jesus Christ and an identity grounded in him, what he did for us, and how he created us.

We’re reaching young people with this message in a brand-new exhibit, Radiance, at the Creation Museum. It’s a stunning exhibit that helps young people, in particular, understand their true identity and how to resist the lies of our culture. I encourage you to make plans to come see it (and enjoy 20% off Creation Museum and Ark Encounter tickets this February with code FEB2026 at checkout). It’s no secret that many secular colleges and universities today (and, sadly, a number of compromising Christian colleges too) are little more than schools of leftist indoctrination. Because of the godless worldview that dominates secular education, many Christian parents and students look into Christian colleges—but it’s important to know that not all Christian schools are good choices!

Sadly, many (most, really) Christian schools have compromised on the truth of God’s Word. Instead of standing firm on biblical authority, many allow man to be the authority as they teach—or at least tolerate—evolution, millions of years, LGBTQ, critical race theory, and more. So how can you know whether a Christian college is a solid college that will build up your (or your child’s) faith or one that will subtly undermine it?

Well, I encourage you to start with three things.

Read their statement of faith. A vague or very short statement of faith could be a warning that the school has little theological depth and is therefore more likely to compromise on the truth of Scripture.

Spend time on their social media. Who are they platforming? What sorts of events are they hosting? What kind of language are they using—or not using? What commentary do they post about hot-button issues? All of these can give you an idea about what the college really believes and actively teaches the students.

Sit down with or interview someone at the institution if their statement of faith looks robust and biblical and if their social media doesn’t raise any red flags. Ask really probing questions about what they teach concerning creation and the age of the earth (don’t just ask if they believe God created—they will almost always say yes, even if they mean he created via evolution—ask very specific questions). And ask about various cultural issues. If they hesitate in answering, are vague, or are very wishy-washy, that’s a good indication they’ve compromised in some way. If you can, ask students what the college is actually like. This gives you a perspective other than what paid staff say!

And if you’re not sure where to begin in a college search, we want to help.

Each fall, we offer a free Creation College Expo at the Ark Encounter. This event gathers schools from across the nation into one place so you can chat one-on-one with representatives. Each school has been vetted by us for their stand on biblical authority (though, of course, we encourage everyone to do their own due diligence in researching the schools). This year’s event is November 5–7, 2026, and a list of participating schools is already available on our website if you want to get a head start on your search.

They emphasize the sufficiency of the Word of God in all areas of life—a value that’s reflected in the classroom, where the Bible is the foundation of every course taught.

One of those colleges is Appalachian Bible College, an official AiG partner school. They emphasize the sufficiency of the Word of God in all areas of life—a value that’s reflected in the classroom, where the Bible is the foundation of every course taught. And to further their mission of equipping men and women to serve the Lord, they even provide a scholarship that covers 100% of tuition for first-time, full-time residential students.

If you’re looking for a Christian college that stands rooted in God’s Word and won’t plant seeds of doubt in your child or teach them to compromise, I encourage you to check out Appalachian Bible College.

And be sure to register today for our free Creation College Expo so you can visit their booth, and many others, in person.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
