That nation, like my homeland of Australia, is very post-Christian, and the church in Canada desperately needs to be grounded in the truth of a biblical worldview. So Answers in Genesis is partnering with Cántaro Institute to advise on a new biblical-worldview science center to be built on a beautiful property in the Niagara Falls region of Ontario.

A quiet property in southern Ontario is becoming the setting for a much bigger story. What was once a boys’ military school is now being reimagined as Worldview Campus—a Christian ministry hub designed to serve families, churches, students, leaders, and the wider culture. At the heart of that vision is an ambitious new project: the Worldview Science Center.

The story begins with Dutch Canadian entrepreneur John Hultink, whose life has already included publishing, book distribution, and decades of investment in Christian work. His latest chapter centers on donating the amount needed for Cántaro Institute to purchase 171 acres near Wellandport, Ontario. The institutionally zoned property includes roughly 57,000 square feet of usable space spread across 10 serviced buildings, with administrative offices, classrooms, dorm rooms, a full-sized gymnasium, and a 250-seat chapel. Renovations are already underway, along with construction of a new book warehouse and retail store.

A Campus Built for More Than One Ministry

Hultink has never been known for thinking small. At 83, he is making a significant investment not simply in buildings, but in a long-term Christian institution. He readily acknowledges that the work requires capable people around him, and one of the key leaders is Steven Martins, director of the Cántaro Institute and manager of Worldview Campus.

For Martins, the campus is meant to make a Christian world-and-life view visible. Rather than functioning as a collection of disconnected programs, the goal is to build a shared institutional ecosystem in which distinct ministries can work side by side in principled cooperation.

Central to that vision is the Paideia Study Center, planned as the theological, philosophical, publishing, and worldview-formation hub of the campus. It is expected to include a specialized worldview library, classrooms and lecture halls, a media studio for podcasts and online education, publishing and research operations, and programs for mentoring, discipleship, and leadership development.

Other ministries are already part of the picture. Rose City Kids will serve children and families in at-risk neighborhoods across the Niagara region through Christ-centered mentorship, education, and care. Niagara Classical Academy will also be on site, bringing reformational philosophy into a classical Christian curriculum. And in partnership with Answers in Genesis in the United States, the campus is developing the Worldview Science Center and Planetarium.

From an Old Soccer Field to a Destination for Families

Today, one part of the property is still easy to overlook. It is an unkempt soccer field where students from the former military school once trained and competed. The grass is high. The weeds are flourishing. Nothing about it yet looks like a major destination.

But that is precisely what makes the vision so striking. Within the next several years, the expectation is that this field will become home to a new science center—one designed to draw families, school groups, churches, and visitors to the Niagara region for immersive learning rooted in a biblical worldview.

The proposed Worldview Science Center will include interactive exhibit areas, a planetarium and dome theatre, and access to the campus’s broader educational and recreational facilities. Plans for the campus also include a 500-seat auditorium for events, camps, retreats, conferences, and other gatherings.

The aim is not merely to add another attraction to the region. The center is being designed around a theological conviction: creation should move us toward the Creator.

A Planetarium Designed to Awaken Wonder

The planetarium is still in the concept stage, but the possibilities are already taking shape. The goal is to use immersive technology to help visitors experience the scale, beauty, and order of the universe in a way that is both scientifically engaging and explicitly Christian.

Programs such as The Created Cosmos are envisioned as journeys through stars, nebulae, galaxies, and immense cosmic structures. Other presentations could place guests alongside an astronaut on a mission to space, showing how human beings can discover, understand, and apply knowledge about the world God has made.

That sense of wonder is intended to extend beyond the dome. The science center is envisioned as a world-class educational environment where scientific inquiry is explored through a distinctly Christian lens—one that connects the study of creation with questions of meaning, purpose, truth, and worship.

The “Crown Jewel” of a Larger Vision

Joe Owen, an author, educator, and international speaker, has come to Canada from Mexico on behalf of Answers in Genesis (AiG) to help [this group] establish and launch the Worldview Science Center. While continuing to serve as AiG’s Director of Worldwide Outreach, Joe is, for the time being, also heading up the development of Cántaro Institute’s Worldview Science Center at Worldview Campus. His work will focus on helping people understand the relationship between faith, culture, history, and science through the lens of a biblical worldview.

For Owen, the science center is not intended to compete with the other work happening across the property. It is meant to reinforce it.

But the direction is clear: a former military academy in rural Ontario is being given new life as a place of Christian education, ministry, and cultural engagement.

And where an overgrown field now sits, the hope is that future generations will one day walk into the Worldview Science Center, look outward at the wonders of creation, and be pointed upward to the Creator who made it all.

If you’re a Christian, how should you run your business?

Much of the practical aspects of running a business will be the same for a Christian and a non-Christian; it will involve the same kinds of tasks, the same workflow, and much of the same problem solving.

As Christians, we should be applying the biblical worldview to all of life, including how we work in the marketplace or run our businesses.

In all of life, you are either for Christ or against Him; you are gathering with Him or scattering; there is light and darkness, rock and sand. So while some things may be the same, everything should definitely not be the same when you’re applying a truly biblical worldview.

I recently sat down with a Christian business podcast, Hundredfold Business Podcast, to discuss the business side of the ministry of Answers in Genesis and how God uniquely prepared me, not just for ministry but also for serving as CEO of a massive organization—Answers in Genesis—along with its attractions, the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter. I hope this advice is helpful to other Christians running organizations or businesses.

What does a recent controversy about a YouTuber and AI teach us about morality?

So here’s the story, according to reports: YouTuber Hank Green, who has 3.2 million subscribers across his channels, recently had to apologize after fans noticed an AI prompt response in one of his videos, showing that he’d been using AI to create the video. After the backlash, he shared that he’s pausing producing videos on some of his channels, saying:

I have been relying too heavily on AI as a research aid. . . . It can be very useful for this task, giving me access to a lot of papers I didn’t know existed really fast, but I think that has been to the detriment of my work because it has not given me the freedom to find all of my own ways into and around a topic.

With how new AI is, the debate rages about ethical and unethical uses for AI. Now, most people would agree there’s nothing wrong with using AI as a productivity tool or for research assistance, maybe even for generating an outline or script that a human fact-checks and adds on to. Many of us at AiG will use AI for such purposes. But when people pass off AI generated content as if it were their own, many people get upset. And why? Well, because it’s a form of plagiarism and seems dishonest. But where does the idea of honesty come from?

You see, people want content creators to be honest, but the concept of honesty comes from a biblical worldview, which most people in our culture today reject. In a secular worldview, there is no moral imperative to be honest—as long as you are getting what you want, why be honest? The end justifies the means! If there is no ultimate authority, there is no ultimate morality, and therefore nothing is truly right or truly wrong. Sure, we may prefer honesty, but that’s all it is—a personal preference—and others might not have the same preference (and without a moral authority, we can’t judge preferences!).

Whenever these kinds of moral controversies erupt, it’s a good reminder that morality only makes sense in a biblical worldview founded on God’s Word.

It’s only because we have an ultimate authority—the unchanging Word of God—that we can say whether things are right or wrong. And the biblical worldview also explains why we intrinsically know things like honesty are moral—we have God’s law written on our hearts (our consciences). Apart from a God-given conscience (which is immaterial), there is no consistent reason humans should just know certain things are right or wrong. Our conscience is another reminder that God’s Word is true.

And yet so many reject the moral absolutes of Scripture and the truth of the gospel in favor of relativistic, whatever “feels right” morality. This kind of thinking is rampant in our culture and absolutely permeates higher education.

If you’d like your student to attend a college that doesn’t teach the relativistic morality that permeates secular colleges (and, sadly, even many Christian colleges), I encourage you to check out the Creation College Partners at our Creation College Expo 2026 at the Ark Encounter, November 5–7.

Well, I made some people upset . . .

That probably won’t come as a shock (and it certainly doesn’t faze me)—people are often upset by our bold proclamation of biblical truth. Nearly every post I make on social media receives at least some degree of negative interaction from unbelievers or Christians who have compromised on the truth of Genesis.

But a recent post on my Facebook page exploded with hate. It was a short post (sometimes these short posts garner the most attention!), and it stated:

A gay “marriage” is not a valid marriage.

That post ignited controversy, and the comments piled up to well over 10,000! Wow! Many of those comments were filled with profanity, threats against me, or accusations that I must be some kind of repressed homosexual. So why did I make the post and why did it get so much negative attention?

Well, I explain that in a recent video we filmed for my social media. I encourage you to watch it for an in-depth exploration into the truth that gay “marriages” aren’t really valid marriages.

We must continue to stand on the authority of God’s Word, even when it’s not popular and even when it garners a lot of hate.

Churches across the nation who use our Answers VBS have just hit an exciting milestone—together we’ve raised enough money to purchase 20 million meals for hungry children through our ministry partner, Children’s Hunger Fund!

Our Answers VBS includes a Missions Moment to encourage the children to turn their love for Jesus into action, serving others.

We partner with a wonderful mercy ministry, Children’s Hunger Fund, for this part of the curriculum. Not only do they provide for the physical needs of children around the world, but they do so through the local church so that each child has the opportunity to hear the gospel and become connected with a local church. It’s a great example of being the hands and feet of Jesus in this world.

Every summer, hundreds of churches use Answers VBS and choose to raise money for Children’s Hunger Fund. Kids collect spare change ($0.25 can provide one meal) and bring it with them each evening. Over the years we’ve been doing this, churches have together collected enough to buy 20,000,000 meals. That’s incredible!

We also raise money for CHF through special meal deals at the attractions. When one of these meals is purchased, we purchase a meal through CHF to feed a hungry child.

We’re thankful for this wonderful ministry partnership, and we’re excited that 20,000,000 meals have been served in Christ’s name thanks to the Answers VBS program, the churches who use it, and many generous kids.

Were the naysayers right?

When we were building the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum, we received opposition—not only the expected opposition from non-Christians but also opposition from some Christians. In fact, a number of Christians (including a few Christian leaders) chastened me for spending money on these projects. They argued that funds should be used to directly proclaim the gospel and get people saved, not to build attractions.

Well, the Creation Museum just celebrated 19 years and the Ark Encounter hit the 10-year milestone last month. Were these naysayers right?

As I’ve shared in previous letters, guest surveys consistently show that approximately 7–8% of guests at the Ark Encounter and around 5% of guests at the Creation Museum report that either they or someone with them came to Christ as a result of visiting these attractions.

That equates to approximately 100,000 people each year trusting Christ because of a visit to the Ark Encounter or Creation Museum. Think about that for a moment. One hundred thousand people a year.

I don’t know about you, but I think that’s a tremendous investment in eternity!

And that’s only what we know from the attractions themselves. It doesn’t include our vacation Bible school programs, resources and curricula, radio broadcasts, social media outreach, Answers TV, speaking ministry, and so many other avenues through which God is using Answers in Genesis.

Notably, as many as 30% of those who visit the attractions are not Christians. The gospel is everywhere throughout them, and you cannot leave without having seeds of the gospel planted!

To me, all of this confirms why building these attractions was such an important vision.

From the very beginning, there were three major reasons for doing so:

First, we wanted to equip Christians in an area that many churches either compromise on, ignore, or simply don’t know how to address. We wanted to help God’s people gain confidence in His Word from the very first verse, and we trusted that this would encourage them to become bolder witnesses for Christ in an increasingly skeptical world.

Second, we wanted to help families raise up godly generations. One of the greatest tragedies of our day has been the catastrophic generational loss from the church. Far too many young people have walked away from the faith. We wanted to provide resources, teaching, experiences, and encouragement that would help parents and grandparents pass a biblical worldview on to the next generation.

And third, we wanted to bring people into worldclass attractions who would never normally attend a church service, evangelistic crusade, or Christian conference. Once there, we could show them the truth of God’s Word, answer skeptical questions, remove stumbling blocks, and present the gospel clearly, lovingly, and boldly.

In many ways, the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum are among the largest gospel outreaches in the world.

What some people criticized as merely “building attractions” has, by God’s grace, become a powerful tool for proclaiming His Word and seeing lives transformed for eternity.

Every day, families walk through our doors. Every day, children hear biblical truth. Every day, skeptics encounter answers to questions they may have struggled with for years. Every day, people are challenged with the authority of God’s Word and confronted with the saving message of the gospel.

And every time I walk through these attractions, I’m reminded that what some people criticized as merely “building attractions” has, by God’s grace, become a powerful tool for proclaiming His Word and seeing lives transformed for eternity.

I’d like to take you on a journey—a walk through the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter.

What I’m about to show you is only a small sample. It doesn’t include the many other places where aspects of the gospel are explained, biblical truth is taught, or visitors are challenged concerning their relationship with the Lord.

So come with me on this journey.

As you look at these photographs, remember that millions of people walk through these attractions. Many come as Christians and leave encouraged in their faith. Others come as skeptics. Some come because they’re curious. Some come because a friend or family member persuaded them to visit.

And many hear the gospel for perhaps the first time in their lives.

Let’s start at the Creation Museum.

Creation Museum

1. Relevance of Genesis Exhibit

   

   One of the first major exhibits that guests encounter presents the gospel message from Genesis to the resurrection through stunning animated artwork. The accompanying signage walks people through God’s plan of redemption from beginning to end

   For many guests, this is one of the first times they have seen the gospel presented as the true history of the world.

   
   

2. Sacrifice Scene

   

   This exhibit depicts the first blood sacrifice as God provided coverings for Adam and Eve after their sin.

   What a picture of what was to come! The shedding of blood points forward to Jesus Christ—the Lamb of God who came to take away the sin of the world. The signage clearly explains this connection and presents the saving gospel message.

   
   

3. Christ, Cross, Consummation Exhibit

   This exhibit concludes the famous 7 C’s walk through history.

   

   Here, visitors encounter the person and work of Jesus Christ in a dramatic presentation featuring beautiful artwork and clear biblical teaching concerning His death, burial, and resurrection. Guests also learn about the new heavens and new earth and the glorious contrast between the first Adam, who brought death, and the last Adam, Jesus Christ, who brings life.

   
   

4. Radiance Exhibit

   

   This stunning exhibit addresses one of the greatest struggles of our modern culture—identity. Through powerful visuals and a specially produced animated presentation, visitors learn that our true identity is not found in the world’s shifting definitions but in Jesus Christ. The gospel is clearly presented, and guests are challenged with the message of salvation.

   
   

5. Conservatory

   

   The gospel is even presented in our Plants of the Bible Conservatory.

   Visitors learn about the crown of thorns associated with Christ’s suffering and crucifixion. The presentation points directly to the Savior and clearly explains the gospel message.

   
   

6. Planetarium

   

   At the conclusion of our spectacular Created Cosmos program, guests are reminded that among all the wonders of the universe, earth is uniquely special. Why?

   Because this is the planet where God stepped into history in the person of His Son to rescue fallen mankind.

Ark Encounter

Now let’s continue our journey through the life-size Noah’s Ark.

1. Pre-Flood Exhibit

   

   Throughout the Ark, visitors encounter breathtaking artwork depicting key events from Genesis, including scenes pointing directly to God’s redemptive plan such as sacrifices and other events that help guests understand the gospel message woven throughout Scripture.

   
   

2. The Door

   

   This is perhaps my favorite feature (and the most photographed) in the entire Ark.

   Visitors stand before a massive door illuminated by a brilliant cross. The message is simple and powerful.

   Just as Noah and his family passed through a door to be saved in the Ark of salvation, we too must enter through a door to be saved. And that door is Jesus Christ.

   I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture. (John 10:9)

   
   

3. The Movie

   Guests watch a 20-minute film portraying a secular reporter who comes to investigate Noah’s Ark and hears the gospel message. Notably, the film includes a holographic appearance by Ray Comfort from Living Waters, who presents the gospel in his uniquely engaging way.

   

   Over the years, I’ve heard from many people who trusted in Christ after watching this film. One man told me that his son-in-law was not a Christian when he entered the Ark, but after watching the movie, he prayed to receive Christ as Savior. The man then smiled and said, “I have a boring testimony because I became a Christian as a child, but my son-in-law became a Christian on the Ark.”

   
   

4. Searching for Truth

   This unique contemporary exhibit follows three university students, including one Christian, discussing the existence of God.

   

   Through the course of their conversations, biblical truth is presented, questions are answered, and the gospel is clearly explained. By the end of the story, one of the skeptical students comes to faith in Christ.

   As guests leave the exhibit, they can take a gospel tract that further explains the message of salvation.

   
   

5. Virtual Reality Experience

   

   Our virtual reality experience transports guests back in time to witness Noah building the Ark, but the most important part comes at the end. The door of the Ark becomes a powerful illustration of salvation pointing people to Jesus Christ and the gospel.

   
   

My point is this:

No one can visit the Ark Encounter or Creation Museum without hearing the gospel presented in one way or another.

These are not merely attractions. They are powerful evangelistic outreaches.

It’s one reason we faced such intense opposition while building them. And it’s one reason opposition continues today.

The enemy is not pleased when millions of people are confronted with the truth of God’s Word and the saving message of the gospel.

Please know that when you support Answers in Genesis, your gift is an investment in eternity. Frankly, I can’t think of a greater investment.

Jesus said:

In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents. (Luke 15:10)

And:

I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance. (Luke 15:7)

Just think about that.

If heaven rejoices over one sinner who repents, imagine the rejoicing that has occurred because of the many thousands of people the Lord has brought to Himself through this ministry.

There’s a lot of rejoicing going on in heaven because of what God is doing through Answers in Genesis.

Evolution is a blind-faith belief.

Now evolutionists don’t like when I say that; they claim that creationists like me have a blind faith while they have science and facts. But this misunderstands the nature of evolution. You see, the idea of evolution doesn’t come from fossils, biology, or DNA. Rather, it comes from an interpretation of the fossils, biological systems, and DNA from a worldview founded in the belief of naturalism (atheism). Scientists start with their worldview—evolutionary naturalism—and they interpret the evidence in light of their worldview. It’s a belief system (really a religion) that relies on faith. But it’s a blind faith.

Evolutionists must believe all of these things by blind faith:

• Life came from nonlife . . . even though this contradicts the law of biogenesis.
• One kind of creature changed into another kind . . . even though that’s never been observed.
• Natural selection can create new genetic information . . . even though that’s never been observed. Natural selection works on already-existing genetic diversity.
• Various, extremely complex systems evolved multiple times each (e.g., powered flight supposedly evolved at least four separate times).
• Millions of years ago, life exploded on the scene in great diversity with few “ancestors” in the rock layers below (this is called the Cambrian explosion).
• Humans and great apes share a common ancestor . . . even though the number of differences between us and them keeps increasing with each new study!
• Soft tissue managed to last millions of years in the fossil record.

And that’s just some of the problems with evolutionary ideas! AiG’s Bryan Osborne and Avery Foley recently discussed the mathematical odds of evolution occurring, and it really highlights the faith that undergirds this belief system:

Instead of starting with the words of scientists who weren’t there, don’t know everything, and frequently make mistakes, let’s start with the Word of the One who knows everything, who has always been there, and who never makes a mistake. He’s given us the true history of the universe in His Word (and science confirms the Bible!).

Well, this is one of the strangest claims I’ve heard leveled against myself and the Ark Encounter!

Dinosaurs are land animals, so two of every kind of dinosaur (60–80 kinds) would’ve been on the Ark.

At the Ark Encounter, we teach that dinosaurs were on Noah’s Ark. We do this because the Genesis text is clear that two of every kind of land animal (seven pairs of some) went on Noah’s Ark. Dinosaurs are land animals, so two of every kind of dinosaur (60–80 kinds) would’ve been on the Ark (those not on the Ark drowned, and many became the fossils we find today). At the Ark Encounter, we feature several pairs of beautifully sculpted dinosaurs to answer the question of how dinosaurs could have fit—most weren’t really that large and even the large ones were once much smaller juveniles!

Well, a reporter recently made a video mocking me and the idea of dinosaurs at the Ark Encounter. But then she made a really bizarre claim—she connected dinosaurs on the Ark with, get this, the events of January 6 at the Capitol! I certainly didn’t expect that leap of logic! Well, it is not logic; it’s illogical.

This past weekend, we at Answers in Genesis heard the sad news that creation speaker and apologist Mike Riddle passed on to his heavenly home on July 31, 2026. Mike, who had a degree in mathematics and education, taught on creation apologetics for over 40 years, with his primary emphasis being to teach the teachers so even more people could be impacted by the message.

In his early life, Mike was a US Marine captain and a world-class athlete, competing in the multi-event decathlon. He also worked at Microsoft and Sprint in engineer training before serving as an adjunct lecturer with the Institute for Creation Research and then eventually joining our staff here at Answers in Genesis in 2005 as a speaker and curriculum developer. He eventually left AiG and founded his own ministry, Creation Training Initiative, which equips Christians to defend biblical truth.

After Mike’s passing, others in the creation ministry field shared what an impact his teaching and encouragement had on them. He certainly impacted many people, including many teachers who would go on to impact others, in four decades of ministry.

His love for teaching apologetics greatly impacted all those who heard.

He was always so enthusiastic and full of energy. His love for teaching apologetics greatly impacted all those who heard. Mike was also known for using hot sauce that most wouldn’t even dare to try! We will all certainly miss him on this earth. With his passing, I would like to challenge others who God may be calling to take up the mantle to spread the biblical apologetics messages that the world so needs to hear.

It’s a biological reality that no child has two moms or two dads. Every child has both a mother and a father—to say otherwise is to deny science—to deny reality. And Them Before Us, a child rights organization, recently blazoned that truth on billboards in 19 locations across the US (and created quite the firestorm in the media!). Why did they do it?

Christians must get involved in defending children from the redefinition of family.

I’ve written about Them Before Us before, especially in relation to their Greater Than campaign, which seeks to overturn Obergefell (the 2015 decision that legalized gay “marriage” in the US) and other anti-family legislation on the grounds of a child’s right to both their mother and their father. You see, legalizing gay “marriage” (it is not marriage, as there’s only one marriage and that is the one God created and defined in Genesis 1–2) didn’t just redefine marriage—it redefined the family, and children are the unconsenting victims of changing the family unit because of adult desires. There is only one place marriage and, thus, the family have their origins—in Genesis.

Just a few weeks ago, we celebrated 10 years of the Ark Encounter in Williamstown, KY. We held a three-day celebration in honor of the occasion, and guests loved it. But on Sunday morning, after our anniversary, a group of about 40 atheists gathered outside the Ark Encounter to protest—why, after 10 years, do they continue to protest us?

They continue to protest because they are in rebellion against God, so they hate the message of the Ark.

Well, as I explain in this video, it’s not really because they’re upset about us building a life-size Ark. After all, you don’t see them standing outside of Disney and protesting that attraction! I’m sure if we’d built the Ark just as an attraction that didn’t share the truth of God’s Word or the gospel, they’d have no more of a problem with the Ark Encounter than they do with Disney. And it’s not because of the supposed tax dollars they claim were used to build the Ark. No tax dollars were used to build the Ark, and yet, these atheists continue to lie about the tourism tax incentive. They continue to protest because they are in rebellion against God, so they hate the message of the Ark. And to them, the end justifies the means—so they will say whatever they want regardless of it being false.

At the Ark, we boldly proclaim the truth of God’s Word and the gospel of Jesus Christ, including the need for everyone to repent of their sin and trust in Christ for salvation. That’s really what they’re objecting to because they are suppressing the truth in unrighteousness, just as the Bible says (Romans 1:18).

The parasite Cyclospora is currently making hundreds of people across the United States sick and causing many to avoid buying lettuce at the grocery store! In a biblical worldview where we know that God created everything, including microscopic organisms, how do we explain pathogens like this one?

Well, we start with the big picture given to us in God’s Word: God created a perfect world that was marred by human sin. Everything was “very [exceedingly] good.” Now all of creation is groaning.

We know from Scripture that Cyclospora was not making people sick before the Fall. There were no nasty parasites in God’s original “very good” creation. And yet, we have them today, so what happened to turn “very good” creatures into disease-causing nightmares?

When we have questions about the past, we start with the eyewitness account of God’s Word.

The short answer is we don’t know for sure the biological mechanisms that turned parasites nasty. We do know there were at least some biological modifications at the time of the Fall (e.g., thorns and thistles and the serpent being cursed above all the cattle and beasts of the field), so it’s possible other creatures, including microscopic ones, were physically changed by God at the Fall to allow them to continue to survive in a fallen world.

It’s also possible that mutations (genetic mistakes) and genetic losses contributed or that creatures simply became parasitic with little to no adjustment (even evolutionists, who have to explain the origin of parasites, believe creatures could have become parasitic with few changes). More research is needed, but as always, when we have questions about the past, we start with the eyewitness account of God’s Word. It’s an objection we often hear: God is a cruel God to have wiped out potentially millions of people with a catastrophic global Flood. Some people will even claim God was committing mass genocide against the pre-Flood world, so He must be an immoral deity. Now what’s the foundational problem with this argument?

Well, here’s the big problem: Why is wiping out millions of people wrong? The answer I usually get to that question is “because of course it is!” And yes, nearly everyone would agree that you or I wiping out millions of people would be wrong, but that doesn’t explain why it’s wrong. Just saying something is wrong doesn’t make it wrong; what if I have a different opinion? Who gets to be right? You need an absolute authority to appeal to, but an atheist doesn’t have one.

Apart from the absolutes of the Bible, given to us by the Creator God, there is no foundation to say that murder is wrong.

Someone who rejects the truth of the Bible doesn’t have a consistent foundation on which to stand to say that killing anyone is wrong. After all, blue whales wipe out untold billions of helpless krill every single day, and no one bats an eyelash! Why? We intuitively know that a whale swallowing a krill is not the same thing as a human being killing another human being. But if we’re just animals, as the evolutionary worldview teaches, there is no real difference between us and krill and blue whales; we’re all just animals and accidents of evolution.

Apart from the absolutes of the Bible, given to us by the Creator God, there is no foundation to say that murder is wrong. In order to argue that God is unjust to kill people with the Flood, the skeptic must first assume the morality of the Bible . . . and then they’ve defeated their entire argument!

Now, of course, God was not cruel to judge people for their wickedness at the time of the Flood. AiG’s Dr. Tim Chaffey answers that objection further, among other objections, in this video:

Ultimately, atheists aren’t upset that God judged people at the time of the Flood for their sin (they claim they don’t believe God exists or that those pre-Flood people even existed!)—they’re upset that someday God will judge them for their sin. They don’t want to be accountable to God; they want to do whatever they want without consequences. But regardless of what they believe, they will someday stand before God, and He will judge them for their sin. If they have not repented, they will pay for their own sin in hell. But if they turn from their sin and trust in Christ’s sacrificial death on their behalf, they will be saved for all of eternity.

How arrogant of fallible, sinful humans to tell the eternal God what is just and unjust!

“Have you not read?”

When Jesus was asked a question about marriage, His answer began with, “Have you not read?” (Matthew 19:4–5). He pointed His listeners back to the authority of the Word of God—beginning in Genesis because next He quotes the text of Genesis 1:27 and 2:24! According to Jesus, Scripture has authority, and it’s the foundation for how we think about everything, including marriage.

And what about the Old Testament? Over and over we read, “Thus says the Lord,” or “The Word of the Lord came to,” or something similar. We’re told that the Old Testament is not just the words of men—it’s the Word of God. Again, the authority of the Word of God is emphasized.

So what do we make of pastors, like the ones in the video below, who claim God got it wrong or the Bible is just a book about God? Well, we take what they say, and we compare it against the authority of the Word of God! Rather than trusting fallible human beings, we start with God’s Word in every area.

Wow! That was fast! It only seems like a few years ago that I was asked for the first time how Noah could fit the animals on the ark. But that was in 1975 during my first-ever science class when I was a teacher in the public schools in Australia.

It only seems like a couple of years ago we decided to pursue building a life-size Noah’s Ark. But that was in 2004.

It only seems like yesterday when we opened the themed Ark Encounter attraction in Northern Kentucky. But that was 10 years ago on July 7 when it was officially opened to the public.

Yes, July 2026 is a great time of celebration for the 10-year anniversary of the opening of the Ark Encounter attraction.

Oh, there were battles and naysaying from Christians and non-Christians. We had a battle with the state of Kentucky and then-Governor Steve Beshear over tourism tax incentives, but the Lord enabled us to win that battle.

I had a number of Christians, including some Christian leaders, tell me we should have spent the money on proclaiming the gospel.

Well, the Ark Encounter, which teaches the gospel clearly through various exhibits, attracts many non-Christian visitors—they make up about 30% of its total visitors—and our extensive guest surveys reflect that an estimated 70,000+ people a year trust Christ for salvation as a result of their visit. I would call that a fantastic investment in people’s eternity!

A number of 2014–2016 articles questioned whether enough tourists would come, whether bonds would fail, whether taxpayers would be left holding debt, whether it would become an abandoned attraction. Various blogs and reviewers claimed the project would fail.

The most important impact has been the spiritual one, with so many each year becoming Christians after visiting the two leading Christian themed attractions in the world.

But 10 years later, millions have visited the Ark as well as AiG’s first attraction, the Creation Museum. Since the Creation Museum opened in 2007 and the Ark in 2016, around 16 million visitors have come to Kentucky to visit these world-class attractions. Many hotels have been built in the area, and having so many people visit has been a financial boon for tourism in Northern Kentucky. The impact on businesses in Northern Kentucky has been phenomenal.

But the most important impact has been the spiritual one, with so many each year becoming Christians after visiting the two leading Christian themed attractions in the world.

When we opened the Ark Encounter, a small group of atheists gathered outside the gates to protest the opening of a private facility, on private land, built by private funding! They had done the same when we opened the Creation Museum in 2007.

It’s a reminder of how intolerant such people are. They don’t want Christians having the ability to get the message of God’s Word and the gospel out publicly. They want to impose their anti-God religion of atheism on the culture.

A handful of atheists continue to protest the Ark most years in July—a small sad group who need our prayers. Over the years, we have reached out to them in various ways. They are so lost. But I’ve met a number of people who have told me they were atheists who mocked our ministry but that after watching some of our videos, visiting our attractions, or reading our books, the Lord opened their hearts to the truth, and they became on-fire Christians.

As we celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the opening of the world’s leading Christian themed attraction, the Ark Encounter, I want to honor the late Patrick Marsh. God brought Patrick along to design the exhibits at the Creation Museum and then the Ark Encounter. Patrick had the God-given talents and experience to ensure the Ark and museum were very “Disneyesque” in quality.

There’s no doubt God brought Patrick to us to make these attractions world-class. And this year, we opened the new Welcome Center at the Ark. Patrick was working on the design of this center when the Lord took him to his heavenly home. Our designers honored Patrick in using his basic design for the construction of this fantastic addition to the Ark Encounter.

Also, we praise God for the Amish and Mennonite craftsmen who wanted to use their talents for this evangelistic project. A special thanks also to the late LeRoy Troyer, the architect the Lord raised up, who saw the Ark as fulfilling his life’s work and calling.

Thank you, Lord, for providing all the people you brought along to enable the vision for the Ark to become a reality. And we pray the spiritual impact of these attractions will only continue to grow so many more will know they will spend eternity with their Savior.

Atheists and atheist groups are angry about a recent decision in Texas to introduce select Bible passages as required reading for students in public school classrooms. They claim this is bringing religion into the classroom and that’s unconstitutional. But is religion already in the classroom?

Yes! Secular is not neutral! One is either for Christ or against him. Atheism, grounded in naturalism (materialism—no supernatural), is the prevailing religion of our day, and it’s taught as fact in school classrooms across the United States. I explain more in this recent video I did for my YouTube channel on this new Texas decision:

We’re in the middle of VBS season here in America, and thousands of churches are moving children from anxiety to peace through Emerald Crossing: An Irish Adventure Through Psalm 23 (our powerful 2026 Answers VBS). In 2005, scientist Dr. Mary Schweitzer and her team found unfossilized soft tissue in a T. rex femur—red blood cells, blood vessels, and collagen fibers. It was a phenomenal find, and since then, soft tissue has been found in many other fossils (some considered to be hundreds of millions of years old by evolutionary dating). Soft tissue is a tremendous confirmation of the biblical timeline of just thousands of years for fossils . . . or is it?

In 2016, the old-earth creation organization Reasons to Believe published a book called Dinosaur Blood and the Age of the Earth. The book attempts to harmonize the existence of soft tissue with the millions of years worldview and discredit young-earth creation arguments regarding these soft tissues. A decade later, this book continues to be promoted. So what do we make of these arguments?

Well, AiG geologist and former director of research, Dr. Andrew Snelling, is writing a six-part series, thoroughly reviewing Dinosaur Blood and the Age of the Earth and responding to the claims. The subtitle of the first installment in the series gives you an idea of what Dr. Snelling will be exposing in his response: “Part 1—Dinosaur Blood and the Age of the Earth: A Futile, Deceitful Attempt to Critique Valid, Powerful Young-Earth Evidence.”

Reasons to Believe, and other compromising ministries like it, promote an old earth because they chose to start with man’s ideas about the past rather than God’s Word. They may say they believe God’s Word is the authority, but they reinterpret God’s Word in light of man’s ideas. God’s Word isn’t really their authority—sinful, fallible man’s interpretations of the past become the authority. That’s why this issue matters so much—it all comes down to biblical authority!

Over the years, I’ve had so many pastors tell me that they avoid preaching the early chapters of Genesis in their churches because it’s just too controversial and can cause division. To avoid ruffling feathers, many pastors avoid it, or if they must teach those early chapters, they are often very vague, not taking a position on Genesis or presenting all the positions and letting their congregation chose for themselves. But this approach has had major negative consequences!

You see, our biblical worldview is grounded in the history in Genesis. Think about it:

• Why did Jesus die on the cross?
• Why am I a sinner?
• What is marriage?
• What is gender?
• What does it mean to be human?
• Why do we need a new heavens and a new earth?

To answer any of these questions (and many more!), you have to start with the history God has given us in Genesis 1–11. In other words, to build a truly biblical worldview, you have to start with Genesis. But because so many pastors have avoided Genesis in their preaching (or compromised Genesis with evolutionary ideas), many Christians don’t know how to think biblically, and they end up thinking more like the world than the Word! Or they have doubts that lead to unbelief or a weak faith that compromises with man’s word.

Yes, Genesis is controversial—but not because it isn’t clear! The history in Genesis is clear. The controversy arises when people take man’s interpretations based on naturalism (evolution/millions of years) and add them into Genesis. When they do this, they’re making man, not God, the authority. And that’s a serious issue!

We need more pastors/Christian leaders who will boldly take a stand on a literal Genesis, regardless of the consequences, so their congregations can have a true biblical worldview and be equipped with answers.

Who is Jesus? It’s probably the most important question you will answer in your life because your answer has eternal consequences! Sadly, not everyone gets the answer correct. Few people start with Scripture as the foundation for their thinking about Jesus, and they end up believing a lot of common myths. Are you equipped to dismantle these myths about Jesus?

Another example of “false advertising” from a Christian college!

I recently met a 19-year-old college student during a meet and greet after I spoke at the Ark Encounter. This young lady was homeschooled, had visited the Ark and Creation Museum attractions before, and had been taught by her parents with AiG resources. This bright young lady had been very well equipped to not compromise God’s Word and stand boldly for the truth.

As is the case with the majority of such colleges, the compromise on God’s Word is rampant.

She attends a “Christian” college and was shocked when she went to her biology class: It was the first time in her education that she had been taught evolution as fact. She had chosen this Christian college because they had portrayed themselves in such a Christian way in their marketing materials. I looked up their website, and yes, one would certainly think it would be a fantastic Christian college. And yet, as is the case with the majority of such colleges, the compromise on God’s Word is rampant.

This young lady shared that she carefully asked specific questions of her professor, and as a result, other students started talking to her and asking more questions concerning her challenges. Sadly, most students from church homes aren’t equipped as this young lady was, and it’s really only exceptional students who survive in such an environment. I was able to help her further by providing other resources and putting her in contact with one of our scientists who she could call when she needed answers to refute what was being taught.

This reminded me once again of how God has used our attractions and resources. This month, we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the opening of the Ark Encounter. Praise God that our extensive guest surveys continue to reflect that 70,000 people a year become Christians as a result of visiting the Ark attraction (30,000 a year at the Creation Museum). That should encourage you, as our supporters, concerning your investment in this ministry that sees phenomenal returns for eternity—and that’s the best return you could have on your investment.

As well as reaching out to non-Christians (research indicates 30% of those who attend our attractions are non-Christians), our attractions, resources, and all the other aspects of the AiG ministry equip Christians and help parents pass on a spiritual legacy to coming generations.

I was thinking about this as I gave a presentation to those attending the graduation of our senior class at our Answers Academy Christian school (this is now our third graduating class). I thought you would like to know what I shared with the students and their families.

I based my presentation on the words “come out” and explained that Babylon is used as a metaphor for the evil world system that opposes God, a system replete with corruption, sexual immorality, and idolatry to name just some of the wickedness.

As I’ve done in some of my talks, I explained how America (in fact, the whole Western world) has become like Babylon and used this as my theme verse.

And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, “Come out of her, my people, so that you will not participate in her sins and receive of her plagues.” (Revelation 18:4)

This is the outline of my challenge to the students:

1. I reminded them that at our parent partnership, discipleship school, we helped their parents to pass on a spiritual legacy to them. As part of this training, we equipped them to think foundationally and to argue foundationally using apologetics so they could defend the Christian faith and be an effective witness to the world. What we were doing was pouring salt into them so they would mature to be able to equip Christians and challenge non-Christians. I used these illustrations:

2. I told them that, sadly, the majority of students from church homes do not get the training they had, and so many end up being contaminated by the world. I used these slides as I discussed this:

3. Then I reminded them of the broad way (Babylon) and the narrow way. We did our best, along with their parents, to ensure they were on the narrow way. I also helped them understand that the broad way is the world and the narrow way is within the broad way but going in the opposite direction.

4. My next point used Revelation 18:4 to remind them that they needed to ensure they were out of Babylon:
   
5. But then to understand that the world uses “come out” to mean publicly flaunting the perverse sexual sins of Babylon:

6. Now for the Christian, “come out” means to come out of Babylon and be conformed to the image of Christ:

I also didn’t want them to get confused by Scripture where Jesus states, “I do not ask you to take them out of the world.” The point is, we are in the world, and thus we are to be a witness to the world but not to partake in the world’s sins but “come out” from that. We stay in, so we are involved in impacting the world, but stay out of the world’s sins.

I would encourage you to give the presentation I gave to any students in your family or friends. The charge, warning, and admonition are things all of us need to take to heart. And really, this has been the message of AiG since it began! Oh, how we need to get that message to more people than ever. I personally think America (and the whole West) has become in many ways worse than Babylon.

Oh, how I’m burdened to call as many as possible out of Babylon. How I praise God for the 10th anniversary of the opening of the Ark Encounter. And really, calling people out of “Babylon” is, in essence, the core message of the Ark and Creation Museum attractions.

What does the future look like?

You may assume that’s a question adults are asking, perhaps as they graduate from college, plan to have a baby, or raise their young kids (or anticipate grandkids). But according to new research from Barna, that’s the kind of question today’s American teenagers feel pressure to answer.

According to the report,

In a new Barna research report produced in partnership with Christ In Youth, 1,500 U.S. teens ages 13–18 were asked how much pressure they personally feel to have answers to some of life’s biggest questions. The sample spans the younger end of Gen Z through the leading edge of Gen Alpha—a cohort coming of age at a moment of cultural and technological disruption. Today’s young people are carrying a weight that goes well beyond what their age and stage would suggest.

What the data reveals is less a portrait of a generation in crisis and more a generation defined by existential urgency—teens who are asking the deepest questions of human experience at the very moment they’re also trying to figure out how to afford adulthood.

Barna organized these pressures around four main themes:

1. “Will We Even Have a Future?”

   • 78% “feel at least some pressure to have answered how they’ll make a living one day”;
   • 77% wonder “whether their generation will have a stable future”;
   • 77% feel pressure to answer “whether society is headed in the right direction or falling apart”;
   • 74% aren’t sure “whether getting an education really matters.”

   Despite their wonderings, Barna researchers note that these teens have hope for the future—58% are hopeful about the future and slightly more think their life has a purpose—something researchers called “anxious optimism”—“one of the most consistent emotional signatures of this generation.

2. “How Do I Know What’s True?”

   • 73% “feel pressure to answer what makes a good life”;
   • 72% “are wrestling with what is true or worth believing”;
   • 70% feel pressure to answer “who they really are”;
   • And 69% wonder “what is right and wrong.”

   Researchers note the rise of AI and its prevalent use among young people in particular may account for some of this search for what’s true—66% are asking if they can trust AI and 64% wonder what it means to be human.

3. “Will Anyone Actually Show up for Me?”

   • 71% “feel pressure around where they truly belong”;
   • 67% feel pressure to know “whether people genuinely care about them”;
   • 66% claim they feel pressure to know “how they should treat others”;
   • 66% wonder “why they’re here”;
   • And 59% “are still working out whether their parents or caregivers will always love them.”

4. “Is God Even There?”

   • 57% of teens feel pressure to know if “God loves them”;
   • And 56% wonder “whether God is real.”

Yes, today’s teens really are spiritually searching!

Those are some deep questions, many of which humanity has struggled with throughout the ages. And who do these teens trust for answers? Well, apparently their parents and the Bible!

Eight in 10 say they would feel comfortable getting advice about who they are from their mother; 78 percent say the same about their father. More than two-thirds say they are comfortable getting wisdom from Jesus and the Bible.

So what does all this mean? Well, I’ve been saying for decades that we need to be giving young people answers. So much of the church has focused on entertainment and inspiring, shallow devotional-type messages (not that devotional messages are bad, but many are very fluffy and often that’s the only type of message given!). And so many parents (especially fathers) have abdicated their God-given role of spiritually discipling their children and left it to the church. The result has been generations who don’t have a biblical worldview, aren’t equipped to answer the questions of our day, and eventually have doubts that lead to unbelief.

But think for a moment about the questions these young people are asking—questions about the future, their meaning and purpose, who cares for them, and whether God exists. Those are all questions that are robustly answered by having a true biblical worldview. When we understand there is a Creator who created all things, defines what He created, knows all things, is in control and has already said how this world will end, loves them enough to die on the cross for their salvation, and has given us His perfect, authoritative Word as the standard for truth, what a difference that makes!

They want the meat of God’s Word, they want to be challenged, and they want to have their doubts addressed and their questions answered.

Teens don’t want fluff. They never have, and they don’t today. They want the meat of God’s Word, they want to be challenged, and they want to have their doubts addressed and their questions answered. They want solid biblical teaching and apologetics! I can’t tell you how many times over the years I’ve had teens come up to me after a talk and either ask more questions or share that my talk made them so excited about their faith because they finally had answers to their questions.

Young people are searching, and the answers are in God’s Word. They simply need adults who will invest in helping them wrestle through their questions, always pointing them back to Scripture as the authority.

Here’s Barna’s advice to those who work with teens:

Faith that insulates teens from hard questions is not resilient faith; it is fragile faith, waiting to shatter on first contact with a complicated world. The teens in this study who show the strongest signs of holistic, active faith are not the ones most sheltered from doubt. They are the ones in environments where doubt is welcomed, questions are taken seriously, and faith is treated as something large enough to hold the full weight of a human life.

The good news from this research is that the conditions that form resilient faith are not mysterious. They are built through genuine relationships, honest inquiry, meaningful service, and the kind of belonging that feels real rather than programmed.

All this fits with what God said in Romans 1 that He has made it evident to all that He’s the Creator, and everyone is without excuse if they don’t believe. And Romans 2 tells us that God wrote His law on our hearts, so we have a conscience. These are major factors as to why these teens are searching for answers.

It’s officially been 10 years!

Even before the Creation Museum opened (in 2007), AiG’s strategic plan (adopted in 2005) included building a life-size Noah’s Ark. At the time, we thought it would be on the museum property—we didn’t realize it would be its own attraction until we started planning and realized how many people would come. The museum property simply wasn’t big enough for parking for all those guests, let alone more room for expansion. So we stepped out in faith and purchased 800 acres in nearby Grant County, KY.

In 2014, we broke ground on the life-size Noah’s Ark structure. Constructions crews, including (around 90) Amish and Mennonite timber framers, labored on the Ark building, while our artists worked in our design studios to prepare the exhibits that would be installed inside the Ark. As we moved closer to the July 7 opening date (7/7 because Genesis 7:7 is when God commanded Noah to go into the ark), we weren’t sure we were going to be able to open—if you had seen the Ark even the day before we opened, you’d never have believed we could actually open on time! And yet by God’s grace (and a lot of sacrifice from our staff!) and tremendous cooperation from some of the authorities, we did!

We’ve seen the Lord use this massive testimony to the truth of his Word to strengthen people’s faith, to challenge their unbelief, and to call them to himself.

That was an incredible moment. But it was just the beginning. Since the Ark opened a decade ago, we’ve seen the Lord use this massive testimony to the truth of his Word to strengthen people’s faith, to challenge their unbelief, and to call them to himself. The main message as you tour the Ark is this: Because the history in God’s Word is true, the gospel message is also true.

My favorite feature—and the most photographed feature—is the door. Illuminated on the door (inside and outside at night) into the Ark is a cross. Signage reminds people that just as there was one door into the Ark, Noah and his family had to pass through to be saved, so there is one door, the Lord Jesus, we must go through to be saved from God’s judgment on our sin. I so love to see people lingering at this exhibit, reading the signage and considering what the gospel means.

We praise the Lord for a decade of powerfully and boldly proclaiming the truth of God’s Word at the Ark Encounter (and for all the upgrades and additions that have taken place over the past 10 years). We’re excited to see what he does over the next 10 years! Coming in March, the Megiddo Mosaic exhibit will be displayed (a phenomenal archaeological exhibit), and in 2028, the first-century Jerusalem model should be ready! And our master plan shows we have so much vision, our great-great-grandchildren could still be working on it.

In just a few days, we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Ark Encounter. We’re hosting a special celebration at the Ark, July 9–11, with speaking from myself, Steve Green of Hobby Lobby, Ray Comfort of Living Waters, and our Astronaut Encounter 2 with three astronauts (General Charlie Duke, Colonel Jeffrey Williams, and Captain Barry Wilmore). It’s going to be a great event. So how did local media report on the 10th anniversary of the largest tourist attraction in Northern Kentucky?

Well, the Cincinnati Enquirer has in recent times been hostile toward our ministry and has repeatedly “reported” on anything to do with us in an extremely biased way. Take the headline they chose for their story on our anniversary: “Why Astronauts Are Coming to Celebrate ‘Anti-Science’ Ark Encounter.” (What a headline!)

The Enquirer’s hostility toward us is not a figment of my imagination. It’s been confirmed by a former reporter with the paper. This week, this person shared with us:

I don’t subscribe to your views on Genesis, but I respect them. I am convinced your leaders are sincere in their beliefs. I witnessed firsthand that the Enquirer has been negative, and even derisive, to AiG in editorial meetings. The Enquirer’s goal was to portray AiG unfavorably.

The story is not an unbiased reporting of the facts on our anniversary or even the Ark’s economic impact on the area (which is considerable). Rather the story tries to smear us and the godly astronauts who are coming to speak. So what’s my response? Well, I recorded a video for our social media team. You can watch my full response below:

Yes, the hostility toward the message of the Ark Encounter continues. But we expect that—it’s been happening for over 10 years now! (And I’ve dealt with it for over 50 years in ministry!) Wow, today America celebrates her semiquincentennial, or her 250th anniversary. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime celebration of what makes America great and her wonderful heritage of freedom and liberty. On this special anniversary, I thought I’d share with you my thoughts on America as someone who wasn’t born here.

In 1987, my wife, Mally, and I, along with our four children (our fifth was born in California), immigrated to the US from Australia and eventually became US citizens (it was a very interesting journey to do this). So what are my thoughts on America? Well, here you go (and you can’t disagree with me until you’ve tried an Australian meat pie with mushy peas for yourself!):

Yes, we are very thankful for America and all that the Lord has done in and through this nation. I pray that the Lord preserves the freedoms and Christian heritage of this nation for many generations to come.

Just a few minutes from the Ark Encounter is a wonderful outreach to veterans, and many of its leaders are Bible-believing Christians: Patriot’s Landing. They say it “exists to heal veterans through meaningful work, camaraderie, and spiritual support, focusing on woodworking and creating patriotic products.” And their workshop and showroom are just minutes from the Ark! They chose Williamstown, KY, on purpose because of the Ark and the people it brings to the area. And of course, we sell some of the items the veterans make at the Ark and Creation Museum.

Patriot’s Landing was recently featured in a local community magazine, and I thought you’d enjoy reading a little bit about who they are and what they do.

[Founder] Joe [Montgomery] envisioned the organization for many years when he and a handful of veterans started building burial flag cases and other “products with a purpose” in a small workshop in Corinth, KY. Joe began dreaming of a larger facility with retail space, meeting space and a scaled-up workshop where multiple veterans could build together. It took prayer and patience and waiting for God’s perfect timing and the right piece of land, directly across from the Veterans North Cemetery in Williamstown, to come answer his prayer. Patriots Landing broke ground in 2022 and opened its doors in 2023.

“I started it to honor my dad, who was a marine, and my 9 uncles who all served,” smiled Joe. “Our mission is to enhance the lives of veterans and their families. I’ve been talking a lot about our mission lately, because I wrote that probably 15 years ago and I didn’t really know what the future looked like, or what the overall big plan was going to be. Assisting the veterans is the obvious part, and their families. What I’ve realized over the last 20 years is that families suffer too. I used to say sometimes, but they all sacrifice. Sometimes as much, sometimes more than the veterans. So, the mission is to impact the lives of veterans and their families. And that’s what we’ve done, with having the brick-and-mortar building.

The answer to this question is significant. Many parents send their children to public (secular) school because that’s what their parents did. Others send their children to the local Christian school in the hopes that they will receive a Christ-centered education (sadly, only 6% of Christian schools in America actually teach biblical worldview). Not everyone who says to Me, “Lord, Lord,” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. (Matthew 7:21)

Scripture is clear that not everyone who claims to be in Christ is actually in Christ. There are many who profess Christ with their mouths, but their hearts are far from him. And how do we know? Because they don’t do what he says!

If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. (John 14:15)

Instead of loving Christ as he’s commanded—with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength—many of these professing Christians turn God’s grace into an excuse to sin, and so encourage others to do so:

For certain persons have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ. (Jude 1:4)

These people will quote the Bible, claim they love God, attend church, and seem very winsome or charming on the outside, but inside they are ravenous wolves seeking to destroy the flock of God.

Now, of course, none of us can see the heart (the inside), but we can listen to what people say and watch the fruit that comes from their lives (and Jesus defines “good fruit” as obedience). So we take what people say and what they do and compare it against the authority of Scripture to see if it is true and if that person is someone we should listen to, follow, or—well—preach the gospel to!

Let me show you what I mean as I break down the beliefs of Texas Representative James Talarico—a professing “Christian”—in this video:

Unfortunately, Rep. Talarico is in seminary, studying to become a pastor. He wants to teach his false, unbiblical views to the church and influence people to become more progressive. So what do we do? We do two things: (1) call out his errors as we “contend earnestly for the faith” (Jude 1:3) and (2) teach truth so Christians can recognize lies.

We must raise up generations who know how to think biblically and who know what they believe and why they believe it.

Of course, we do both of these things every day at AiG, and we produce resources to equip you so you can turn around and equip your children and those around you. And if you’re someone who holds a position where you get to teach and influence others, it’s vital you are doing the same! Happy Father’s Day!

I hope you are having a wonderful time today celebrating the joy of being a dad.

No matter what else the Lord has called you to as a man, you are called to lead your family first. Do you take that seriously?

You know, fathers carry a heavy responsibility from the Lord: the calling to lead their families and to disciple their children. It’s a joyous responsibility, but it’s one that needs to be taken very seriously. No matter what else the Lord has called you to as a man, you are called to lead your family first. Do you take that seriously? Really stop and take a moment to think about the spiritual “climate” in your home and what you are doing on a daily basis to ensure your family is being led in Christ as they should be.

If you’re looking for some encouragement in leading your family or you don’t know where to start, here are three suggestions I have for you:

1. Read the Bible with your children every day. Make opening the Scriptures together a priority. This doesn’t have to take long or be elaborate. Simply open God’s Word, read a passage, and discuss it (and if you’re not sure where to start with discussing Scripture, consider asking a simple series of questions such as “Where is God in this passage?,” “Where is man in this passage?,” and “What should we do in light of what God says here?”). Another option is to choose a biblically sound devotional or apologetic book to read together (feel free to mix it up, but the actual Scriptures should always be the focus). 2. Prioritize church attendance. I’ve never been able to attend our home church as consistently as others—I’ve been gone many weekends for speaking engagements for 50 years of my life! But when I was away during those years when we had young children at home, my wife, Mally, always made sure the family went to church, explaining to the kids that since Dad was away, she would step into that role and take them. For the weekends I was home, I always prioritized taking them to church. I wanted the kids to see how important it is that we are in fellowship with other Christians, learning from God’s Word.
3. Serve together. My mum drilled into me: “God first. Others second. Yourself last.” Do you lead your family that way? And do they see it in the way you serve them and others? We’re naturally born selfish, thinking of ourselves first, so serving together as a family is a great way to cultivate selflessness and a heart that puts Jesus and others first. Look for ways to serve your church or your community together.

Whatever stage of fatherhood you are in, I pray you take your responsibility both seriously and joyfully. God has given you a high calling, and it’s a privilege to get to serve him and your family in this way—as a father, your role is vital to the spiritual health of your family, your church, and, by extension, your community and nation.

This year is one for the books for three reasons—and wait till you learn what the third one is!

1. We all know that America celebrates the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence this year, which was, in essence, the birth of the US.
2. It’s also a celebration year for AiG, as it’s the 10th anniversary of the opening of the Ark Encounter. We have some special events happening at the Ark on July 9, 10, and 11 to commemorate this special time (more on that later).
3. It’s also a celebration of what I call a miracle! Well, I consider it a miracle! Those of you who know my sweetheart wife, Mally, will understand why I said it’s a miracle when you hear that . . . she wrote a book! Mally wrote a book? Yes, she did!

Mally is very shy and always likes to stay behind the scenes. She doesn’t want to be the focus of attention. And she’s not a writer or a speaker. Yet she wrote a book—a powerful book. Let me tell you some of the background.

When we were visiting the facilities of Master Books (the publisher of all my books) in Arkansas last year, their top executive, Randy, approached Mally with an idea. He said he thought it would be fantastic if Mally could write a book about her life as a wife, mother, and grandmother, being married to Ken Ham, and how she coped and has always supported me in this ministry. He thought she would have some great advice for wives in ministry and for women in regard to family and marriage. After all, she had five children and now has eighteen grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.

When I heard this, I thought, “There is no way he is going to get her to do this.” I can still see the horrified look on Mally’s face. She immediately dismissed it as impossible. When Randy asked her, he and some other staff from the publishing company had taken us to lunch at a quaint restaurant. As we were leaving, Mally saw one of the items for sale at the restaurant and commented on how much she liked it. It was a beautifully finished log seat with the words: “An old bear lives here with his honey.”

Neither of us thought any more about the seat or the book. Then sometime later, we were called by a shipping company who said they were delivering a seat. We were perplexed, “We didn’t order any seat.” After the truck delivered this very large package, we opened it and to our surprise found it was the seat Mally had made a passing comment about in Arkansas.

I then realized, “Oh, this is a bribe to get Mally to write this book they want!”

Mally said something like, “They can bribe all they want, but I can’t write a book.” She kept talking about them sending this seat and how she was not a writer, so how could she write a book?

So I started putting some pressure—gentle and persistent pressure—on her. After all, I knew it would take a miracle, really, to get her to do this. After a lot of persuading and conscripting our daughters to also coax her, we came up with an idea. Master Books would send a list of questions they would like her to answer in the book. Mally would sit with two of our daughters, and I would have one of our best writers, who has written many of my radio scripts and articles for me and has edited a number of my books, sit with her while she tells her life’s story.

As I read the manuscript and helped Mally add in things she wanted to say, I was amazed at how special this book is.

And so, while protesting right up until the day, she told her story to our writer, Avery. Avery recorded everything and wrote Home Fires, keeping Mally’s words. What a powerful book. It’s emotional and convicting. As I read the manuscript and helped Mally add in things she wanted to say, I was amazed at how special this book is. When Heidi St. John—podcaster, author, speaker, and a very special friend of ours—heard about the book, she offered to write the foreword! She knows Mally enough to know this book would be such a unique and important one. After she read the book, she sent the foreword. Here is just an excerpt from it:

It’s counterculture but in a great way. She has the scars but also the proof. I see this project as a real testimony to that.

And then he said, “I don’t know if Mally would be willing to do any publicity if it was alongside you. . . . I do think you and her together talking about the book would be a great interview.”

I thought, “Okay, I know what it took to get her to have this book written . . . to get her to do an interview? That would take more pressure than President Trump put on Iran!” So stay tuned for what happens regarding this request!

I wanted to let you read a very short excerpt from one of the 12 chapters of the book as it does pertain to our 10th Ark anniversary year:

This is actually happening! God enabled us to do this!

“What’s your favorite exhibit at the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter?” I’ve been asked this question over the years and my answer is, well, all of them! I remember standing beside Kenny when the museum—his dream since the 1980’s when he stood on a little piece of property in Queensland, Australia and prayed for a creation museum— finally opened in 2007 in Kentucky. Certainly, we could never have dreamed in the 1980’s how God would answer that prayer, but he did in his way and in his timing. When the Creation Museum opened, I had to pinch myself in a way as I thought, “this is actually happening! God enabled us to do this!” To this day, every time I go to the Creation Museum or the Ark Encounter, I think, “Wow. Look what God did.” I truly get amazed every time at how big our God is and how blessed I am to be a part of a major ministry impacting tens of millions of people each year.

When the Ark Encounter opened in 2016, I had the same thoughts as I had when the Creation Museum opened. It’s so hard to believe God would use Kenny and Mally Ham from Australia for such an important and impactful ministry. I am truly in awe of what God has done and feel so inadequate for what God has used us for.

It still amazes me to this day how God brought these two Christian themed attractions about and how he’s using them to impact families and individuals from around the world. So, I like all the exhibits because of their impact and how each exhibit impacts people differently. But I especially love The Ham Family Legacy Exhibit in the Legacy Hall lobby area at the Creation Museum.

This exhibit features Kenny’s Dad’s Bible, a little Noah’s ark his Dad made for him, and a bit of history regarding the Ham family. The teaching in the exhibit really challenges people to pass on a spiritual legacy to coming generations. Whenever I see it, I am reminded of the impact Kenny and his parents had on me spiritually, concerning understanding and standing on the authority of God’s Word. Kenny’s spiritual leadership has contributed greatly to my own spiritual growth. I have so loved his leadership in our marriage and family. And if you talk to our children and grandchildren, you will quickly discern how Kenny’s spiritual leadership has impacted them as they boldly and uncompromisingly stand on God’s Word.

I hope that thought challenges you to consider what kind of legacy you are leaving. The most important legacy is spiritual!

So this year, as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the birth of the nation, we also celebrate the 10th anniversary of the opening of the leading Christian themed attraction in the world—the Ark Encounter. What exactly is a swear word, and why does it matter?

God cares about our speech—there are many verses in the Bible dedicated to our mouths and what comes out of them (which ultimately is a reflection of what comes out of our hearts). For example:

Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for building up what is needed, so that it will give grace to those who hear. (Ephesians 4:29)

Let your words always be with grace, seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should answer each person. (Colossians 4:6)

And the tongue is a fire, the very world of unrighteousness; the tongue is set among our members as that which defiles the entire body, and sets on fire the course of our existence, and is set on fire by hell. (James 3:6)

It is not what enters into the mouth that defiles the man, but what proceeds out of the mouth, this defiles the man. (Matthew 15:11)

Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving. (Ephesians 5:4 ESV)

Over the years, I’ve heard atheists claim over and over that young-earth creationists are “science deniers” who believe in a flat earth. And I recently heard this kind of claim again—but this time it wasn’t from an atheist. The claim was from the well-known Christian theologian and apologist William Lane Craig, who denies a literal Genesis, instead believing in evolution and millions of years.

Yes, he really compared believing what the Bible clearly teaches about Genesis to believing in a flat earth (something the Bible doesn’t teach and that denies observational science). But William Lane Craig has a problem—he doesn’t really understand science! And he refuses to take God at his Word in Genesis.

I explain what I mean by this in my response to Willian Lane Craig’s claims in this video:

Yes, sadly, William Lane Craig has been impacted by the religion of naturalism (which is atheism), and he’s added that into the Bible. It’s compromise on the truth of Scripture, and this compromise has major problems (such as putting death and suffering before man’s sin—a direct contradiction of Scripture).

Instead of trusting the words of men who don’t know everything, weren’t there, and often make mistakes, we must start with the Word of the God who knows everything, who has always been there, and who has never made a mistake. William Lane Craig needs to do that!

What are your travel plans for this summer? For many Americans—especially with the 250th anniversary of America taking place this year—summer plans include a road trip and seeing some of America’s greatest sights. (How about the two leading Christian themed attractions in the world?) I recently shared my tips for visiting the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter on your road trip, and today I want to share my suggestions for touring an evolutionary natural history museum.

Obviously, a secular museum is probably going to present evolution and millions of years as fact and may have other scientifically or biblically problematic content. So how do you and your family tour these museums, enjoying the artifacts, displays, and more, without absorbing evolutionary ideas? Here are my six tips:

1. Learn the 7 C’s of History before you go. At the Creation Museum, we summarize the foundational history God has given us in his Word (Genesis 1–11, the foundation for everything) in the 7 C’s of History. It’s an easy way of remembering this foundational history and the gospel chronologically. When you have the framework of Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe, Confusion, Christ, Cross, and Consummation in your mind, it makes it easier to properly interpret museum exhibits. And it’s a great teaching tool for kids. You can walk up to an exhibit and ask, “Which C of History does this fit into?” and have some great discussions, teaching them to interpret everything through the lens of Scripture.

2. Discuss the importance of worldview and the two kinds of science. Science is not some kind of neutral endeavor (one is either for or against Christ) where the evidence speaks for itself. Everyone (including every scientist) has a worldview, and they use that worldview to interpret the evidence we have in the present. That’s why it’s important to understand the difference between observational science and historical science.

   Observational science is directly testable, observable, and repeatable (think technology and medical innovations).

   Historical science, though, deals with the past. We only have access to the present.

   The worldview you bring to the evidence in the present will determine your interpretation.

   Fossils, rock layers, etc. exist in the present, and we can’t directly test, observe, or repeat the past. We didn’t see how they were formed. So the worldview you bring to the evidence in the present will determine your interpretation.

   It’s not a battle of science vs. the Bible—it’s really this: Will we start with God’s Word or man’s word?

3. Always separate the fact from the interpretation. Museum cases often include the facts (e.g., the fossils), and then the signage and illustrations add the interpretation! Learn to separate what was actually found from the evolutionary interpretation applied to the evidence. For example, fossils rarely contain soft tissues so it’s difficult to reconstruct what that creature looked like when it was alive. Because evolutionists believe life evolved from primitive to complex, they often illustrate life in the lower rock layers as very primitive looking. Remember that the illustration is not what they found—what they found was a fossil (or bits of a fossil). The illustration is merely an evolutionary worldview applied to the evidence.

4. Understand the order in the fossil record. Some museums will present life as a progression from simple to complex through the fossil record. Understanding that the fossil record does not represent eons of time and different eras of life but, rather, different stages of the flood as the waters rose (first burying the deep ocean and later the continents) is important for properly interpreting the rough “order” to the fossil record.

5. Remember to ask, “Were you there?” For decades, I’ve taught children that whenever they hear about evolution or millions of years, they should (politely) ask the question, “Were you there?” You see, no scientist was there in the beginning, no scientist knows everything, and scientists often make mistakes. Now, I wasn’t there either and neither were you, but we know the one who was there—and he is perfect, doesn’t make a mistake, knows everything, and has given us an eyewitness account of history in his Word. So even if a museum exhibit stumps you and you don’t know how to properly interpret it, remember God was there and we can trust his Word over the interpretations of man.

6. Give God the glory. As you tour museums and other attractions, you will see many examples of God’s handiwork and creativity. In the midst of correcting the evolutionary signage and offering a biblical worldview interpretation for your family, don’t forget to give God the glory for the wonderful things he’s made!

Oh, and here’s one more bonus tip: Visit the Creation Museum and Ark Encounter first! There are certain scientists and researchers who are considered subject-matter experts, knowing more about a specific topic than almost anyone else. These researchers dive deep into God’s creation and are familiar with the astounding complexity of life and the universe—and yet many of them still reject the Creator God. But the evidence confirming an intelligence behind the universe is so obvious—overwhelming, really. One such world-renowned scientist recently passed away, dying an atheist as far as we know. How is this possible?

This scientist was Dr. Craig Venter, a genomics researcher. In other words, he was an expert in DNA, the most complex language and information system in the world. He was one of the researchers who first drafted the human genome. He was a brilliant man who knew an impressive amount about DNA. And yet, as far as we know, he utterly rejected the Creator, attributing the complexity of DNA to random, chance processes. And sometimes Christians wonder how that’s possible. How could an intelligent person who knows so much—and knows how much there is that we don’t know—not see the fingerprint of the Creator?

Over the years, I’ve found that many Christians are unaware of what’s really being taught at the Christian college they support. They assume because the school claims the name of Christ, teaches the Bible, and says in their marketing materials that they are faithful, that they truly are—but that’s not the case with many Christian colleges (especially many of the most well-known ones). I recently shared about a segment that ran on Fox & Friends about the Ark Encounter. The segment featured Fox personality Steve Doocy touring the Ark with AiG’s Avery Foley. While the edited segment is only four minutes long, the tour of the Ark lasted almost two hours, and while he was touring, Steve had lots of questions—many of them about dinosaurs (one of his dinosaur questions even made it into the final edited cut). Today we celebrate 19 years of the Creation Museum! The vision for it actually goes back to the late ’70s when I was a high school science teacher.

As I think back over nearly two decades of the Creation Museum, it’s incredible how much the museum has grown and changed.

The exhibits have been updated and expanded, many new exhibits have been installed, the grounds have matured beautifully, our zoo has been upgraded and expanded, we’ve opened our Plants of the Bible Conservatory (which, as far as we know, is unique in the whole world), we’ve added on a butterfly house, and we even opened a gorgeous new restaurant just this year. And that’s just some of what’s changed in 19 years! (And, of course, once the Ark Encounter opened, guest numbers dramatically increased at the museum—and we’re already celebrating 10 years at the Ark Encounter!).

But what I think of most as I reflect on the past 19 years of the museum are these two things:

1. The faithfulness of God. From the moment we decided to build a museum, we’ve faced opposition and difficulties. There have been many (many!) challenges along the way, and there continue to be. We’ve cried out to the Lord for help, and he’s always been faithful. The museum—which continues to expand and welcome tens of thousands of families each year—is a testimony to the continued faithfulness of God.
2. The lives impacted. Millions of people have visited the Creation Museum in the 19 years we’ve been open. During my meet and greets, I hear story after story from families who have visited and been greatly impacted. I hear many salvation testimonies (we estimate, based on our extensive guest surveys, that 30,000 people come to know Christ each year at the Creation Museum), stories of how it emboldened people to share their faith or stand against compromise, and accounts of fathers and mothers who were challenged regarding what kind of legacy they would be leaving. All these testimonies, and the many we will never hear this side of heaven, are a result of God using the museum for his glory. Praise God!

As we celebrate 19 years, join with us in thanking God for his faithfulness, praising him for impacting people through it, and asking him to continue to use the Creation Museum for his glory and the salvation of souls.

Is eating meat “inherently wrong”?

Well, your answer to that question is going to depend on your starting point. If man is your authority, then truth is subjective and completely arbitrary. One person might say eating meat is wrong, while another says it’s completely fine. Who’s right? Without a standard—an ultimate authority—both are equally subjective.

His Word is the ultimate standard for morality.

But there is an ultimate standard: the Word of the God of the universe. He is the Creator, and he alone has the authority to say what is right and wrong. His Word is the ultimate standard for morality. And this is what his Word says regarding meat consumption:

Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything. (Genesis 9:3)

God, who owns everything, has given us permission to eat meat, just as he originally gave us the plants to eat (Genesis 1:29).

What’s incredibly ironic is that many of the people who claim we shouldn’t eat meat or kill animals are also pro-abortion—they promote, defend, or even celebrate the killing (murder) of a child in the mother’s womb! How inconsistent! I responded to this deadly inconsistency (and the hypocrisy of the person speaking) in a recent video:

May is graduation month for many students at Christian and secular educational institutions. Some graduate so they will move up a grade the next year or to mark the completion of their secondary education, and some graduate with degrees that will enable them to pursue a particular vocation.

I love attending the graduation ceremonies at our Answers Academy Christian school and seeing the children graduate from their classes. And what a blessing to hear those graduating from their senior year give testimony as to how they have been equipped to be an effective witness for the Lord as they continue to pursue their education or a job.

There’s nothing more important for any of us than that we trust Christ for salvation.

I’ve actually given a number of talks at graduation ceremonies in Christian schools or commencement addresses at Christian colleges over the years. Whenever I have done this, I have always emphasized the importance of standing boldly on the absolute authority of God’s Word and doing all they can to reach people with the truth of God’s Word and the message of salvation. After all, there’s nothing more important for any of us than that we trust Christ for salvation.

As I was thinking about this, it brought to mind two of what we could call “graduation ceremonies” that are the most important for us to participate in.

The first such graduation would be when we hear the words like those in the parable of the 10 talents/minas (which is about Jesus entrusting us with talents/resources and us faithfully using those to invest in the kingdom): “Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master” (Matthew 25:23 LSB). For those who have repented of their sin and trusted Jesus Christ for salvation, those are the words we want to hear when we graduate to heaven!

I also thought of this passage:

Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each man’s work will become evident, for the day will indicate it because it is revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each man’s work. If any man’s work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward. If any man’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire. (1 Corinthians 3:12–15)

Yes, the Christian’s works will be judged by fire one day. Some have works like wood, hay, or stubble, and these works will be burned up. Nonetheless, these Christians will be saved, but they may not receive rewards.

Sadly, I think there will be many “smelly” believers in heaven—those who are saved but whose works are not like gold or silver or precious stones. Rather, their works are like hay and are thus burned up, in a sense, leaving the smell of fire and smoke on them. This is a reminder that we are to use the talents and resources God has entrusted us with to diligently invest in the kingdom until Jesus comes back or we go to meet him upon our death.

The second graduation Christians look forward to is when we are all at the marriage supper of the Lamb.

“Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready.” And it was given to her to clothe herself in fine linen, bright and clean; for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.

Then he said to me, “Write, ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’” And he said to me, “These are true words of God.” (Revelation 19:7–9)

Wow! What a graduation to look forward to, when believers (the true church) celebrate the union of Christ and his bride—his redeemed people! As you think about students graduating this month, search your heart to determine if you know you will one day graduate to heaven and be at that graduation when the bride of Christ is united with him forever.

Over the years I’ve had people ask me, “If we all came from one human couple, why do we look different from one another?” People have even asked, “How could so many races of people all come from Adam?” Yes, even in the church many people have bought into the evolutionary idea of many so-called “races”! If you’ve ever wondered—or been asked this question—here’s the short answer:

There’s only one biological race: the human race.

Biblically, there can only be one race because we’re all descended from Adam and Eve.

There aren’t many different races. Science has powerfully shown that we’re all one race and that the genetic differences between people groups (what some people erroneously call “races”) are extremely minor—just a fraction of a percent!

This is not surprising. Biblically, there can only be one race because we’re all descended from Adam and Eve. Scripture is clear on this:

And [God] made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth. . . . (Acts 17:26)

And why does this matter? Well, because there’s only one race (Adam’s race), every person has the same ultimate problem—each is born a sinner in rebellion against God. And that means every person has the same ultimate solution: the last Adam, the Lord Jesus, who died and took our penalty for us and then rose from the grave.

Over the years, I’ve heard the objection over and over again that the Bible doesn’t give us an age for the earth—that’s what science is for! I usually respond a bit tongue in cheek by saying I’m glad it doesn’t, or it would have been outdated the very next year! But then I go on to explain that the Bible doesn’t give us an age for the universe—it gives us something better: a birth certificate and a detailed chronological history.

You see, Genesis 1 is clear that God created everything in six, literal, 24-hour days (learn more about how we know they were literal days in this article). That means the universe was six days old when Adam was created. We then have detailed genealogies in Genesis 5 and 10 that don’t merely provide the names of the fathers from Adam to Abraham but also their ages when they had their sons. This means anyone can easily add up the time that elapsed from Adam to Abraham (about 2,000 years). Since the Bible gives us the details to figure out Abraham lived about 2,000 years before Christ and we know Christ walked on this earth 2,000 years before us, we can determine that there’s been about 6,000 years of history.

It gives us a “birth certificate” we can use to figure out how much time has passed since the beginning.

So, no, the Bible doesn’t say, “The earth is 6,000 years old.” Earth wasn’t that old when the Bible was written anyway! But it gives us a “birth certificate” we can use to figure out how much time has passed since the beginning. (And, just as an aside, this birth certificate is why most people in the West believed the earth was just a few thousand years old until relatively modern times!)

This idea that the Bible is silent on the age of the earth was recently repeated by apologist Dr. John Lennox. AiG’s Dr. Terry Mortenson responded to that claim, along with several others. What an incredible event!

Last week, we hosted our three-day Answers Homeschool Experience at the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum. Over 3,000 individuals registered, and they absolutely loved the experience.
