The Creation Museum is pleased to be part of an auction that benefits a charity called the “Special Operations Warrior Foundation.” SOWF, according to its website, “provides full scholarship grants and educational and family counseling to the surviving children of special operations personnel who die in operational or training missions and immediate financial assistance to severely wounded special operations personnel and their families.” See: http://www.specialops.org/
Here is what we have contributed to this online charity auction: http://www.charityfolks.com/cfauctions/auction_bid.asp?auctionid=19291&catname=Kids&mcid=27058
The dollar value for the museum family membership, signed book, and lunch was determined by the sponsors. A part of the winning bid can be used as a tax deduction. Typically, the amount deductible is equal to the difference between the stated Fair Market Value and the winning bid.
The bidding stops on the afternoon of July 6 (tomorrow, Tuesday), so please visit the auction link above.
Some of my blog readers may have seen the SOWF charity mentioned on Fox TV News from time to time.
As guests signed in at the reception, Dr. Kees had two for one discount coupons for museum admission on display (see photo below)—especially for out-of-town visitors to use so that they could visit the museum the next day. Also, on the program seen at each place setting, Dr. Kees had written that instead of "favors" being offered to the guests at the reception, a donation was made to the museum instead! See the photo with the special announcement.
We appreciate the creative ways that people help us in promoting the evangelistic museum! And congratulations to the new couple—the McDonalds.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for praying,
