JOB TITLE: Customer Service Representative REPORTS TO: VP - Administration

DEPARTMENT: Customer Service STATUS: Full-Time, Regular – Non-Exempt Hourly 

LOCATION: Petersburg, KY 


SUMMARY: Our Customer Service Representatives are responsible for creating the best experience possible for our callers. They do so by handling daily customer orders, inquiries, and complaints in a friendly and efficient manner. This position is also accountable for displaying our Core Values of SERVE when interfacing with both internal and external customers to ensure that the message and mission of Answers in Genesis is portrayed in an effective and God-honoring fashion. 


RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Model and uphold with all staff members—the Quality Service Standards of Safety, Hospitality, Presentation and Efficiency

•Collaborate within department in the day to day operations with the overall development of a SERVE culture

•Answer inbound phone calls and assist customers with their order (describe products, prices etc).

•Be proactive in product recommendations, up-selling, cross-selling and add-on sales.

•Make outbound calls to return voicemails and encourage product sales.

•Detailed data entry and order entry in database.

•Provide product pricing and shipping quotes.

•Take magazine subscription orders and answer questions regarding subscription status.

•Answer miscellaneous questions or transfer calls to appropriate department.

•Respond to customer emails in a timely and professional manner.

•Stay current with new products and be prepared to answer questions regarding Answer in Genesis resources.

•All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

•1-3 years of experience in customer service, sales and/or marketing

Requirements

 Strong interpersonal relationship skills – ability to interact with customers and coworkers across all departments and levels.

•Aptitude to learn a new database

•Knowledge of Answers in Genesis, Creation Museum and Ark Encounter mission, philosophy, values, and objectives.

•Exceptional ability to multitask and accurately follow instructions in a fast-paced environment.

•Ability to memorize and retain facts, scripts, procedures, etc.

•Availability to regularly work during business hours, Monday-Friday

•Basic understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel

•Must agree with and be able to sign our Statement of Faith.

•Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ

Regular attendance at a local Bible-believing church.
