A brief history of Answers in Genesis–USA

(For a more complete history of Answers in Genesis–USA, please see The history of AiG–U.S. to 2006.)

Answers in Genesis was started in early 1994 to help the church return to a belief in the authority and reliability of the Bible from its very first verse.

Founded by Australian Ken Ham and two colleagues, the AiG ministry is attempting to bring reformation to the church through: teaching seminars, a daily radio program Answers … with Ken Ham, hundreds of faith-building books/tapes (including the new ANSWERS magazine) and this award-winning* popular website, www.AnswersInGenesis.org. AiG is also exposing the harmful effects that evolutionary humanism has had on society—and even the church.

Formally incorporated in Kentucky in late December 1993, the first major seminar was held the following March in Denver, where 2,200 adults and over 4,000 students attended. The first newsletter was mailed out in March. The Answers … with Ken Ham radio program began in October of 1994.

Each year, AiG conducts over 400 meetings, reaching well over 100,000 people. Its daily radio program is heard on about 800 radio stations in the U.S. AiG has a sister organization in the United Kingdom and is continuing to expand around the globe through Answers in Genesis Worldwide. In 2007, AiG’s large Creation Museum will open near the Cincinnati Airport.
