In this age of evolutionary thinking, visiting a major modern museum, which is traditionally anticipated as an educational, enriching experience, often becomes a frustrating search for nuggets of truth amidst the prevailing humanistic and evolutionary biases. For example, dinosaurs are always portrayed as having ruled the Earth during the ‘Age of the Dinosaurs’ millions of years ago—before they supposedly took flight as modern birds. But a different kind of museum is on the horizon!
Answers in Genesis–USA is in the process of building a one-of-a-kind Creation Museum near Cincinnati, Ohio. This 45,000 ft2 (4,000 m2) museum (as part of a 95,000 ft2 complex) will engage guests in the experience of a lifetime—the opportunity to see the true history and future of the universe unfold before their eyes!
The message
When viewing the evidence in the natural world, everyone wears ‘glasses’ through which they interpret the evidence. For example, evolutionists operate under the assumption that the universe is billions of years old, so evidence about the past is viewed in light of the evolutionary timeline. Guests of the Creation Museum will be asked to put on ‘Biblical glasses’ and view the evidence in light of the Biblical account of history. The Creation Museum will take guests on a journey through time, following the outline of the ‘7 C’s of History’: Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe, Confusion, Christ, Cross and Consummation.
Construction update
While the museum building is under construction, the exhibit design team is hard at work developing the exhibits that will be used to present the message. Currently the foundations for the museum have been poured, walls are going up, and the erection of steel is underway. Dynamic, multi-tech presentations are currently being developed. A planetarium, a special-effects theatre, animatronic figures, interpretive nature trails, life-sized dinosaur models, and other dynamic exhibits will totally immerse guests in an exciting and unique learning experience that will glorify Jesus Christ as Creator, Sustainer, Redeemer!
